Blood of Kahless

[Hagon]

The Klingon faction's most feared and hated fleet, and the first Klingon fleet established for STO, will do glorious battle.

Honor, duty, tradition, for more than a millennia these have been the corner stones of the Klingon culture, but before the rise of the empire Qo’noS was ruled by men who were without honor, cold blooded tyrants who enslaved the Klingon people and crushed their warrior spirit. The worst of these petaQs was Molor son of Markag. For nearly two decades Molor lived high on the wealth of Qo'noS while his subjects languished in poverty and starvation. Many longed to end Molor’s reign, but few dared speak out against him and those who did paid with their lives.

But there was one warrior who’s voice would not be silenced, a warrior who sought to end Molor’s reign of tyranny and unify the Klingon people: Kahless. With the promise of a glorious new empire free from tyranny and rooted in the principles of honor, Kahless rallied many to his cause. At his side were the Honorable Three: Ogot, Kollus, and To'Kar, masters of three different but equally powerful fighting disciplines. Lead by Kahless they marched on the capital city, a diverse and well trained army of warriors hungry for battle and for freedom. The battle raged for twenty days and twenty nights. Many fine warriors lost their lives in the struggle, but thanks to the skills taught by the Honorable Three, the army of Kahless maintained the advantage. On the twentieth day Molor fled the city to seek refuge in the nearby mountains.

Kahless also left the battle and journeyed to the volcano at Kris’tak. There from the molten lava flowing from the summit he forged a mighty blade. He called the weapon Bat’leth, Sword of Honor. Wielding his new weapon, Kahless entered the mountains to seek Molor’s refuge. The final battle took place high in the cliffs overlooking the plains of Qultlh qul. As the battle raged below Kahless and Molor were locked in mortal combat, each knowing that the fate of Qo’noS hung in the balance. Finally it was over. Raising the bat’leth above his head Kahless howled at the sky, a warning to the honored dead in Sto’Vo’Kor that the souls of many great Klingon warriors were on their way. His howl echoed across the plain and the warriors on both sides laid down their arms and took up the cry. The tyranny of Molor was at an end.

In gratitude for their leadership and training, Kahless decreed that the Honorable Three should continue to teach their skills to warriors of future generations. Ogat, Kollus, and To'Kar, swore a oath of loyalty to Kahless. They placed their d'k tahg knives on the ground one by one symbolizing strength, duty, and sacrifice, and connecting the three weapons Kahless drew a circle symbolizing honor, the force that surrounds and unites all the Klingon people.

And so Ogat, Kollus and To'Kar, established the Dun vajpu' DuSaQmey, the Schools of the Great Warriors. Each of the three Schools taught the wisdom of Kahless and the combat style of the Schools' founders. The finest graduates from each of the schools were bestowed with a warrior's highest honor: Mmbership in the Honor Guard. This elite group, under the leadership of one of the school’s masters, served as the personal guards to the emperor.

Although there has been no official emperor since Sompek ruled more than three centuries ago, the Honor Guard still exists. These warriors continue to serve the Klingon Empire, and today, as it was in the past, it is the hope of every warrior from the time of the Rite of Ascension to serve with this elite force. To become members of the Klingon Honor Guard. The Blood Of Kahless!

We're not a role playing fleet. Fleet business and chat will be OOC.

Adult oriented fleet focused mainly on having fun. BOK will be aligned with the Klingon faction, and all applicable races are welcome. We welcome both casual and hardcore players, but no one is to expect others to conform to their play style. We will participate in PvE and PvP if available, and any other facet of the game our members find fun, but no one will ever be forced to do things they don't like doing. No egos or drama wanted. If occasional strong language and adult themed speech offends you, this fleet probably isn't the place for you. We won't be about having too many rules, and most leadership roles will mainly be for administrative/friendly help to other members purposes only.

We are a NA based fleet (although anyone is welcome). We have a vent server to use, and our members will be using it.

Well there that is. I think the main thing I want to get across is this is going to be about having fun. I like to have a laugh and have a good time when I play.

We'll have to see the fleet system in-game before we really know how group play will work. Presumably it'll consist of groups of players taking on PvE missions and PvP battles with each member of the group contributing to the fight in various ways. Usually depending on what class they are, or how they've specced out their character/ship.

Quapla'Well as one that has always played the underdog faction in a few games (which is a big reason I chose to play Klingon for STO), and is quite familiar with RvR or faction vs faction PvP, I can tell you that although it's usually a challenge, it's not always as great a hardship that it would seem. It also tends to make better players out of the side with lesser numbers. I'm looking forward to it!

as i've said before, i don't really have experience with this platform, but it does seem that since most of the other Klingon fleets that i've seen are also tight-knit, so communication and coop will certainly be easier than if it were a massive fleet

I agree with you that once the game goes live and if/when we're dealing with massive fleets facing each other, communication and cooperation between the various established fleets is going to be vital. Those things will happen pretty naturally though, and pretty quickly too once people realize the need for it.

I just think that, for now, keeping aware of the other Klingon fleets that are being established, and making it clear that we'll be open to cooperating when we can, is sufficient. I'm adverse to taking things any further at this point, the reasons for that I've given on our fleet forums.

Not to worry though. Once the game starts to heat up BOK will be front and center and making a name for itself as being fierce competitors that not only fight for the glory of our own fleet, but for the glory of the entire Klingon faction as well. Us being cooperative and communicating with the other fleets will be important in establishing that reputation.

It certainly seems like assumptions are being made as to how every fleet will be playing, and why, and such. Like yourself, I'm about relaxing and having fun when I play. Aslo it would be a good idea to take taking 10 cloaked ships deep into enemy territory and taking out there mining stations and ship yards which will hurt there economy :D

it's really great to see the fleet growing. i expected that we would get bigger more gradually, but i really think that by keeping up with the thread, and the artistic talent that we've got it's apparent that we are the predominant Klingon fleet in STO. this is something we should all be proud of. btw, welcome to our newest fleet members.

same here, i hit one in town a month or so ago. i'm trying to get a bear atm, deer season for rifle dont start til next month, it's archery only now. you should have seen this 5x5 white tail in town 16 or 18 inch spread. not super heavy tho.
