What do you think the game will ship with and what do you think will come after. I think borg EP (Startrek online. Return of the colective.) then Dominon. (startrek online. Rise of the dominon.)

I'll wait till after we have more than no information on the game to comment on expansions. :p

Klingons, Humans, and Vulcan are almost a given. After that, who knows.

I would be willing to bet, the game will ship with a instruction book.:D

Why are you even worrying about expansions when they just announced they are working on the core game. It will be a LONG time till expansions are even a thought. How about talking about making the core game a good game for us to enjoy, then they can worry about making expansions.

Oh boy. Already? Seriously? We haven't even seen any gameplay footage or any big info on the current state of the game and you want to talk about expansions?

I understand your enthusiasm, I really do. I'm excited for this game too but can we wait until we have the core game in front of us before we start discussing content for expansions. ;)

This is Cryptic we're talking about - they don't do 'expansions' per say - in CoH/V all expansions were free and episodic in nature. My guess is that they'll use a similar method with STO.

The game will ship with a box and a promise. After two years, we'll get a CD or DVD or Bloo-rae or whatever with an electronic version of the promise. Six months after that, the website will be updated. Another four months and a "patch" to the promise will ship, letting us know that the actual game content is just around the corner. Four years past that, Cryptic will say, "NONE OF YOU ARE DEVELOPERS AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT TAKES TO MAKE THIS GAME!" which will invalidate the promise and cause most paying subscribers to shout "DOOOOM!" Five weeks after that, they'll nerf the promise and everyone will leave.

What I am talking about is whether or not you would like to see things like the borg come atfirst or with an EP after. I think that fed/card/kling/rom/ would be a good start. then borg then dominon.

I hope there's a expansion dealing with a civil war erupting in... The United Federation of Planets.

Why?

It's usually everybody else who's ever had so much inner turmoil that they end up fighting against themselves. I'm sure that over so many centuries, there'd be some sign of cracking within the UFP to provoke dissention.

I am certain the game will ship with... Erm. Ships!

I am certain expansion packs will come with... Content!

... Really, that's all I got with the information we have. Actually, I'm guessing quite a bit on the second, as who knows - they might not have expansion packs in their planning!

I think for an EP, we'll get to discover a stable wormhole to see the Delta Quadrant and visit the races seen only in Voyager

I'd love to see race expansions. Eventually let us play as Romulans, Cardassians, and who knows what else. (though my primitive mind cannot see how to fit play as a Borg into a game) Adding on new space and planets to explore, new ships to use, new tech to learn. I definitely hope (and believe) we'll see a couple expansions over the long life that STO will enjoy. ;)

This was my exact reaction, too. Whenever I've mentioned expansions here on this forum it was my way of saying, "Way down the line, if the game is even popular enough to warrant more content." August 10th will serve to show me whether the game is heading in a direction I like or not. Gameplay means everything. (I'm looking at you, Star Trek: Legacy).

I would like to see expansions be based around large content expansions not just End Game/New Ships (IE equipment) type stuff.

I could see the release being primarly Alpha/Belta Quadrant with each new expansion pushing further into space IE a follow up with Gamma/Delta Quadrant.

Could even call it that
