Ok, so I dont know about you guys but one of the planets looks like how earth looked in Star Trek: First Contact when borg assimilated it. I am just saying...is the Federation going on the offensive against Borg if this screenshot really shows borg.

I'm not yet sure what to think of the graphics. Space still feels a bit too colorful and cartoony in my opinion. But on the other hand, the ground screenshots look great!

...kind of dim, but I'm sure you guys can color-correct these images. Some of them are older images, but still interesting.

The Screenshots are very nice, but a little bit Comicstyle !?

some of the space screenshots looks similiar to sins of a solar empire when viewed up close. Though the ground screenshots look wickedly awesome.

Most of them are Perpetual's art ... but take a look at the last one in particular! Klingon captain, Ferengi, Bajoran, Cardassian (the last two on the same ship?) and what looks like a Vulcan at the back. Better than awesome.

As for the screenshots, the planet surfaces win me over, but I must agree that space needs some extra work. However, perhaps my opinion will change once I see a Starship gracefully drifting through one such scene.

Nah, that shot is definately one of perpetuals, it just wasn't released before.

you will find:
Gorn are about
Alien's orbital facility's actually "dock" with a planet! :eek:
there are contested zones (most likely a war going on then)
asteroids are hazardous to go through

its really small, you need to stick your head to screen to see it

right along the bottom can you see the brown hill with the two...things next to each other at the bottom? go to the top of the brown hill and look amongst the bushs there. it is standing inbetween two of the trunks behind a big leaf, you can see its head just barly

yup. Well i dont really like all those new ship designs. Sabre class or Akira are ok, Centaur class is really awesome x). Sovereign is a bit... "overstyled" ? ;)
Miranda is a cool old class. Loved that Saratoga refit :D
Really nice cannon-food starship. I remember those scene in the ds9 series, when the federation battle the cardassian fleet and those 2 miranda ships were simply knocked out by 1-2 torpedo hits :D
I love those little crappy ships. Like the Bird of Prey. They just look good but hell, i dont want to fly with that into combat :P

I've been looking at the space ones with the station and the alien ships...those look good, but they remind me a little too much of something you might see in City of Heroes...like it was cartoony. and I remember someone saying that few posts back.

I did like perpetual's idea of what the inside of the ships should look like, and if Cryptic did anything similar, that would be amazing. I was SO psyched when I saw perpetual's In-ship concept art.

And anybody have an idea of the beta testing and when that's going to happen?

I don't think any of the space screenshots look cartoony. Only the one screenie of the planet surface with all the mushroom like plants that grow many meters tall looks cartoony. Other than that it looks like it could have been taken straight out of Mass Effect. That is awesome.

for any nay sayers about the quality (not style mind you) this game is still in alpha i believe so the fact that they have so many screenshots already...i think is impressive. I do think that the space setting is taking a bit cartoonish turn...I hope these post change the direction toward more realistic future screenshots.

yeah the quality of the game will look 10x better later on. They will redefine the engine and get the most out of it. The screenshots were decent, though.

No, I think this one was done by Cryptic -- reason being that Perpetual had always been very firm in their plan to only have the Federation as a playable faction. This is clearly the interior of a Klingon ship, and it certainly has more character than an NPC crew. It's also very much unlike most of Perpetual's character art in terms of style.

they could be communications arrays so that they can communicate a much further distance than normal :) like the Argus Array

Those are sensor arrays, for someone who is rather observant, I would have thought you would have noticed the captions.
