Here we are....
A Dutch fleet, for Dutch gamers! We are playing a Star Trek RPG at the moment, preparing ourselves for the Star Trek Online game....

At this moment we have three active ships and a Star base at the Cardassian Border... just 1 year before the Dominion war... (2370)
The current missions are going well, and the ones that we did were very successful.

We have a very active crew, reporting in almost every day, chatting on our own chatbox, or having loads of fun on our TeamSpeak server. The main goal of our fleet is mainly to have fun, staying as faithful as possible to the Star Trek Storyline.

The RPG we play is completely Dutch.

a glimpse of our first mission of AriesFleet:

T1aO_DJ says proud: * Engage* in his brand new Galaxy class Ship, the HMS Sharatan. While Sarevok and Sheriffnl are watching the departure from Sheriffnl's hut in Starbase Ariesfleet 1 at the Cardassian Border (former Starbase 211). Worried about the skeleton crew on there that HAD to go on a mission, without a Shakedown, without proper testing...

My God Sarevok, i really hope that they know what they're doing out there. This Mission shouldn't have taken place. But what else could have been done... nothing... we were the only capable ship around ...

* Sheriff orders to open a channel to Starfleet Command *

Starbase Ariesfleet 1 to Starfleet command; The HMS Sharatan is on her way to Soltok IV. Hoping that the ship will survive and they'll return in one piece! I've also informed our Chief engineer ShockWave_Omega about the warpcore troubles encountered when exceeding speeds of 8.9.

gezien het de nederlandse vloot is, Laat ik me hier dan maar eens aanmelden.

jullie laten toch hopelijk wel romulan/klingon hybrids binnen he?

ik houd alleen niet van, die dingen als samen een verhaal schrijven via email, (die rollen spellen), ik heb het druk met runescape, school en natuurlijk Star Trek Dark Armada.

in games heet ik vnix ned2, maar op gemidelde fora heet ik Locutes of borg

A dutch fleet? Okay, I'll just sign in. You hopefully allow romulan/klingon hybrids in there, do you? The only thing I can't stand is telling (RP) storys via mail; I already got my hands full due to runescape, school and -of course- Dark Armada. *

helmsman inderdaad, stuurman zou misschien een betere naam zijn, maar zou wat verwarring kunnen geven, omdat dat soms ook een rang is.

Wat betreft openingen: de posities die momenteel door NPCs bezet worden kunnen ook allemaal door spelers overgenomen worden. Als we genoeg mensen hebben zullen we een ander schip in gebruik gaan nemen.

Ariesfleet is still looking for officers to strengthen their crew.

We are preparing for STO by playing a RPG at the moment. This way we get acquainted with each other and we know what to expect from each other.

We are on our second mission at this moment and the third is being written as we speak.
As soon as we know how STO will work with ranks and gameplay we will adjust our goals to those requirements in order to prepare as good as possible for the MMO.

All communications are in Dutch for the Ariesfleet.nl website and we'll proceed this when the MMO will go online. If there are any English people interested, please contact Sarevok or Sheriffnl.

Geweldig, al die aanmeldingen, had ik niet verwacht! Zoals eerder aangegeven door Sarevok is het niet verplicht om mee te spelen met het rollenspel. Maar het is wel wenselijk dat je je aanmeldt op de website van www.ariesfleet.nl. Op die manier is het voor ons mogelijk om een overzicht te hebben van alle actieve/ aangemelde leden en kunnen we elkaar op de hoogte houden van nieuwe ontwikkelingen.

We hebben vandaag een vergadering omtrent Ariesfleet om wat situaties te bespreken die niet door 1 man beslist kunnen worden. Ook zullen we de aanstellingen bespreken van sommige bemanningsleden.

Er moet voor iedereen plek zijn bij de RPG, daar zullen eventueel NPC's voor worden opgeofferd :)

Howdy!

Leuk dat er nu al zoveel Nederlandse spelers zijn! ^^
Ik voeg me graag bij deze fleet, al heb ik niet zoveel met
text-based rp's.. in het nederlands in ieder geval. =P

Ik denk dat ik mezelf onderhand wel een StarTrek-veteraan mag
noemen, ik speel al lange tijd games als Klingon Academy en Bridge Commander,
maar ook de Armada rts's. Ik heb ervaring met space-sim's als Freelancer en Eve Online,
en ben ook lang actief geweest in verscheidene mod-communities daarvoor.
StarTrekOnline is dus voor mij 'A gamer's dream coming true', dus verwacht zeker wat
inzet voor de fleet!

Thats correct,

We play the current RP in Dutch. We also plan to keep our fleet as dutch as we can when STO comes online.
Or at least european...
To avoid people on the other side of the planet logging in for the fleet, while we're asleep.

But this matter can always be discussed if there are good reason to think otherwise...

We hebben onze Kastelein (Quark) van het chatkanaal #StarTrek-Online op irc.ircworld.nl de opdracht gegeven om elke dag de statistieken van dit kanaal te analyseren en uploaden naar de website.

Het vlaggenschip van de vloot loopt binnenkort weer binnen in de Aries Base.
Er zijn een hoop interessante functies nog vrij.

- Chief engineer.
- Dokter.
- Navigator.

Ook op onze andere schepen zijn nog plekken open voor mensen die interesse hebben.

Kijk snel op de site en maak kans op een plek op onze Galaxy klasse, Defiant klasse of ga voor een van de andere schepen.

Ook de HMS Mesarthim begint binnenkort aan zijn weg terug naar de Ariesbase...

Vloot Admiraal Sheriffnl blijft nog even op aarde om wat zaken te regelen met Starfleet Command.

Deze hebben een beloning toegekend voor het aanleveren van borg onderdelen. Wat dit inhoud, is tot op heden nog niet bekend.

Na de 2de debriefing zal Sheriffnl naar planetia utopia worden gebracht voor een rendezvous met ....

I guess we'll continue this thread in English then :)

But i would like to remind everyone that reads this thread that the AriesFleet is a Dutch fleet, and on our own site we talk Dutch ... Double Dutch too sometimes ;)

When STO will go online, we will remain a Dutch fleet, but ofcourse this will be difficult to maintain communications with other players. So if needed we'll switch over to English.

If there are people having difficulties talking, or typing English, perhaps The AriesFleet would be the fleet to join for you!

A little update for your friendly fleet from Holland.

We are now looking into fast forwarding our timeline to 2373 so we will be at the beginning of the all out war. The first mission we have planned will make sure of a spectacular beginning for our new stories. We will keep you posted on the changes.

We are up and running in the year 2373. A lot of exciting stuff has been going on recently.

It seems like the Aries Fleet is growing out of it's jacket. It is now common that we double our bandwidth limit on our hosting server. And the guests and users on the site are growing every day!

For this reason I am negotiating with our current web hoster to look into the annual costs and come with an offer. Or we will be forced to move to an other hoster that offer more bandwidth and webspace for the same price.

From here you can do the math yourselves. AriesFleet is going well! Even planning a real live meet in februari 2009.

If you are interested in participating in a 'unique dutch' Star Trek RPG you can still join us!

We are playing a forum based RPG awaiting the release of Cryptic's ... euh... Atari's STO!...

After the release the forum RPG will still be played and maintained. but the focus will change to STO.

Ariesfleet Official Fleet Update

The fleet is doing great. Lots of people joined our ranks and we are almost able to start selecting a crew for out last vacant ship the HMS Bharani. Real life fleet meeting is rescheduled 11th of April in Tilburg ( Holland )

The HMS Alpha Arietis sufferd critical damage and was replaced with a new ship.

Ariesfleet badgirl Phoenix turned herself in. She was promised a new start after having her memories altered.

On a more serious note. We have sufferd our first player death. My own character Vice-Admiral ShockWave_Omega has died in the line of duty whilst exploring a Breen ship. The Vice-Admiral was hit by a phasershot in the back just when he was beaming out.

ShockWave's duties will be taken over by the new Vice-Admiral arriving from Starfleet.

Hello all Star Trek Online Fans,

AriesFleet is growing! And because of that we need to look into our current structure of the website. We are also setting up a training for newcomers to RPG. This is intended to learn RPG-Noobs the fine art of posting.

We can also proudly mention that we have upgraded our webhosting services. We simply grew out of our previous webpackage. We now have more bandwidth available and more disk space.
There have been some changes in personnel to.

All this will be discussed on our TeamSpeak Server on Thursday the 12th at 19:30 CET.
details of our TeamSpeak server can be found on our website.

The spoken language will be Dutch, but if there are English People aboard, we will be glad to change this to English!
