Lotus Fleet is a Star Trek Online / Roleplaying Federation Fleet. What Lotus Fleet intends to accomplish is the idea that while we will maintain a Starfleet Structured military ranking system, we do not want to take our members for granted, as it is them that allows the Fleet to exist and succeed both within Star Trek Online and outside. With that said, its our goal to offer as much Web content that we can by allowing RPing and also positions that would allow Fans to assume Ranks Ranging from Cadet in the Academy through the Enlisted Ranks found in the Lotus Fleet Operations and finally up to Captain in Lotus Fleet Command. Positions above the rank of Captain are available but only to those that are the most dedicated and truly feel that they can make a difference in how our members can further be engaged.

Many Fleets that are Star Trek Fan based do in fact have and support Forums and Chat room based RPing, If your not familiar with the MMO type of game play Lotus Fleet has designed and offers to the entire Star Trek Community a robust, scalable and customizable Starfleet Academy experience that will help new Star Trek fans become familiar with both in game content and the Star Trek Universe as whole while allowing seasoned Star Trek Fan the ability to reminisce upon the things that has made Star Trek so great in everyone's mind. Our cadre of Academy Staff have dedicated many combined years to all things Trek, and are more then prepared and pleased to bestow that knowledge on new members of the fleet. Another Feature is that the term Fleet(s) currently preparing for STO are in fact equivalent to what you might call Guilds that you might find in WOW, SWG or COH. What that means is should you decide to become member of Lotus Fleet will not only have the honor of attending Starfleet Academy but will also have the support and dedication to you that can only come with a group of dedicated members that all share the same goal of living out their dream of being a Starfleet Officer and exploring the great unknowns that the universe has to offer.

Upon graduation from the Academy new fleet members will embark on a journey that will continue to develop and support the idea of member based Fleet support and allow dedicated members that want to see Lotus Fleet become one of the most Elite and Fun Fleets that they can be proud of.

Lotus Fleet would also like offer an extended invitation to all services members where ever you might be. whether you will have the ability to play STO or not you will always have a welcome home here and, we would still like to offer a little piece of home and show our appreciation for what you do.

Lotus Fleet has actually been doing great. Myself and the rest of the Command Staff will be joining Hailing Frequencies (Hailingfrequency.co.uk) at the Vegas convention in August for the Big reaveal. Also the Fleets newly designed website is well under way in the development process. As well as the multitude of Academy Courses that we will be offering to the rest of the Star Trek Online and Gaming community.

Overall we have been quite busy and have a really dedicated bunch of Starfleet Officers.

I have to say that the next year or so is going to be that will be full of great surprises for the STO Community.

"Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead!"


Those words where uttered by Admiral David Glasgow Farragut (1801-1870) Aboard Hartford, Farragut entered Mobile Bay, Alabama, 5 August 1864, in two columns, with armored monitors leading and a fleet of wooden ships following. When the lead monitor Tecumseh was demolished by a mine, the wooden ship Brooklyn stopped, and the line drifted in confusion toward Fort Morgan. As disaster seemed imminent, Farragut gave the orders embodied by these famous words. He swung his own ship clear and headed across the mines, which failed to explode. The fleet followed and anchored above the forts, which, now isolated, surrendered one by one. The torpedoes to which Farragut and his contemporaries referred would today be described as tethered mines.

In January of 2008 the Star Trek Gaming Community was rocked by the horrific news that a game that they had been looking forward to for 3+ years was no longer going to be developed and that only the Intellectual Property (art work) was to be transferred to an undisclosed bay side developer. Shortly before this announcement came a new Fleet named Lotus Fleet that promised to maintain its course and strive through the adversity and the prospect that from its inception it may never have a game to call home, a game that would one day join its small but loyal group of members. However nearly 6 months after the Fleets Launch and nearly 4 1/2 months of communications silence, Lotus Fleet held true to its calling and against all odds has held its course. It is only now that a Lt. Commander whom of which is the only man of his species to ever join Starfleet who uses and truly understands the power of "Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead!", however I believe that his words are more appropriately used as **Slam and beat the nearest console** and then order **Ramming Speed!!!** to convey his intent in that through the rough and difficult times that we as the fans of not only all Star Trek games but as well as the Patient awaiters of STO that we can say, this day forward "Ramming Speed!!!!" to finally know that our dream of one day playing an MMO centered around the culture that is Star Trek is like seeing the very bright light at the end of the tunnel, and while I do not doubt that the tunnel is still very long, what brings me great pride is how a Fleet that seemed to have been a victim of bad timing has managed to hold its course damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead, and prepare for RAMMING SPEED right into Star Trek Online!

Each and every man and woman of Lotus Fleet has the right to say that they are among the most dedicated of all Star Trek gaming fans, simply because of the experience that has taught us in recent months that Star Trek Online is exactly what we choose to make of it, allowing us to not only imagine through our Role playing events but also through the preparation of the immense service that we wish to offer upon its opening, a fully functional Star Fleet Academy with 50+ courses, and the knowledge that despite the greatest adversity this Fleet has surged on and will continue to strive for greatness.

It is with great pride that today, that Cryptic Studios is developing Star Trek Online that I put a call out to all of the Star Trek Online fans that will one day seek membership to a Fleet that they can not only effect but also grow for and with, as we await Star Trek Online or more appropriately the bright light at the end of the tunnel.

State of the Fleet Address

Since the January 1st launch of Lotus Fleet I have given only one other of State of the Fleet Address during that address all of us where experiencing waves of emotions with regard to the future of Star Trek Online. Despite the nearly 7 months of having complete communications blackout with the new developer of Star Trek Online, Lotus Fleet has managed to endure these trying times with success. I can honestly say that it has been a very long and difficult time; our Fleet has in its short life experienced the coming and going of many members that showed great promise as Starfleet Officers. While I can only speculate that these members where simply distracted by the feeling that STO is nothing more then a myth, I am very honored and humbled by the group of individuals that have chosen to see Lotus Fleet as something more then a Star Trek Online guild.

This Fleet has already experienced a great deal of refitting and adjustments that reflect solely down to how we operate successfully, and while we are only engaging a fraction of our infrastructure, I am pleased to say that it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain our current state. With this concept in mind the Command Staff have been actively discussing whether or not the time is right to activate Lotus Fleet Operations. Originally we had planned to activate this division when the Academy opened its doors to its first class of Starfleet Cadets, however due to a constant trickle of individuals joining Lotus Fleet these questions have been raised.

At this time the Academy courses are approximately 80% complete, with the majority being Year 3 and Year 4 courses. When I review the reports on what courses are currently in progress I can see at this time there more then a half dozen courses are currently being written. The Academy Staff should feel a great sense of pride in what it is that they are achieving today. This monumental task lead by Rear Admiral Athos, Captain Imperator and Captain Ethan R. West and the Academy Professors is by no means a simple task. These Individuals have shown a level of dedication to this Fleet that will be remembered for as long as Lotus Fleet exists, it’s through the combined work of these individuals that our future members will be among the best and most knowledgeable of all Starfleet Officers within STO and other Star Trek role-playing and gaming environments. However despite the great strides that the academy staffs have made, we are still in great need of individuals to fill the vital roles of our Fleets Academy Professors, so I would encourage anyone that has an interest in any of our 5 remaining Academy Positions to please contact Rear Admiral Athos or Captain Imperator.

In addition to the great strides that our Fleet has made to its Infrastructure and the Academy, we have also managed to update and change the look and feel of Lotus Fleet as a whole, with the inclusion of customized division logos that link each of Lotus Fleets divisions to their main page. Thanks to the hard work and attention to detail Commander Docsean has managed to give Lotus Fleet a new look and for this we are grateful. Some of Commander Docseans other achievements are the completion and implementation of the Fleet Wide Forum Signatures as well as a finalized version of Lotus Fleets Academy Diploma. The meticulous detail that has gone into each of his works is only a small example of the overall gratitude and pride that I have for each of our members. It is exciting to know that one day when the Academy opens its doors that both members and non-members will be welcome to experience Starfleet Academy that was written and designed by Star Trek fans alike as well as upon graduation they will receive a Starfleet Diploma that they can hang with pride anywhere they choose.

Along with the new appearances that Lotus Fleet has and the accomplishments being done within our Academy Lotus Fleet is still very much dedicated to the proposals that where given on the Hailing Frequency website with regard to the United Federation of Fleets. In addition we are also still hard at work on our new website as well as a custom Lotus Fleet Academy Cadet Interface that will allow our cadets the ability to see all of the information that they should have access to during their Academy career, to include current courses, available courses, completed course scores and a multitude of other features. This process is very slow, but coming along.

As I come to a close I would like to also highlight that Lotus Fleet has instituted an Awards system that will allow our members to receive special commendations that highlight their great achievements.

Once the Academy is on-line...tentatively in September, ALL Lotus Fleet members, from Fleet Admiral Nova through the newest Crewman, will go through the school. The Academy is designed like a 4 year university (though obviously it won't take you 4 years to complete!). You get to choose which program you wish to take (Science, Medical, Engineering, Tactical/Security), and you also get to select which electives you want to take. Most courses have an end-of-course exam, but it's more like Trek-Trivia. We are not trying to make things difficult, only interactive and fun. Basically if you went through the class, you will do just fine.

Upon graduation, you will be awarded a beautifully designed diploma which has several security features built in so as not to be copied. It's designed to be printed as a certificate and let me assure you that after going through our Academy, you will be proud to have that diploma.

Our Academy is designed to be continuously updating. Once we get the Academy on-line, Professors will have the time to go back through and update courses. Cadets will also have a hand in helping us make our Academy the best there is.

We also plan to offer graduate schools in the future; namely Command School and Advanced Tactial School. The Command School will teach officers about how to lead, how to lead a guild, and other useful MMO skills. Advanced Tactical School will have two parts; Part 1 will be starship combat where we plan to use Bridge Commander to battle against and with one another to learn how to fight as a fleet, and not just as an individual. Part 2 is security training. We plan to use Elite Force II to train squad tactics.

In all, Lotus Fleet members can expect the highest level of training. As we learn more about the game, our training tactics will adapt to more accurately prepare our members to immediately excel at STO.

this is correct. Some players have two characters (one for each ship), which is why there is an alt question, if you were wondering. (or anyone else was :))

However the long wait and unknown of where we would go from there has paid off. A few weeks before STO Web site was launched I found LotusFleet.com Let me tell you how surprized I was. 1st these guys have it together. From Day one I was excepted into the ranks, and Started Roleplaying on the web site based game they play. State of the Fleet Address 3rd Quarter


Moving into the 3rd quarter of 2008, as this fleets commanding officer, I review the last six months that Lotus Fleet has existed in the absence of any word, any vision, or any news of Star Trek Online. As a Fleet we had hoped that Lotus Fleet could be designed in such a way that we would not only feel proud to service the Star Trek, Star Trek Gaming, and Star Trek online communities but that we could be seen as a standard for new and upcoming fleets preparing for STO to build themselves upon. Unfortunately early into first quarter of 2008 the Star Trek Community was devastated by PE news of Star Trek Online. As young as Lotus Fleet was had we been any normal fleet with normal members the Fleet would have folded and simply died away among the masses of Star Trek Online fans that seemed to disappear into the distance with their heads held low with disappointment. However, early on it was became quite apparent that while Star Trek Online was dead, at least for the moment, Lotus Fleet members where far from discouraged, Yes its true we all felt a sense of despair at some point but together we worked, we talked, and prevailed in our actions to continue steadfast and strong.

As I give this address to the Fleet and the various Star Trek Communities I report that Lotus Fleets Academy of 60+ courses ranging 4 distinct Professions is more then 80% complete, and as we continue to work ever diligently on a new website, a fully functional cadet interface that will house our Academy courses, I continue to look back to the humble beginnings of this Fleet and peer forward to announce that all three of Lotus Fleets Divisions are operational in one capacity or another. Granted our infrastructure is not yet 100% and as we fill vital roles within the Fleet and develop our procedures, Our Academy will be available to everyone with out the need of having a membership to Lotus Fleet, upon graduation you will have earned a Starfleet diploma, and should you choose to join Lotus Fleet, my newest Fleet Officer Rear Admiral Raven and the Lotus Fleet Operations Staff will be there to guide the newest members of Lotus Fleet through the enlisted ranks, it is within Lotus Fleet Operations that we hope to spend time with our new members showing them the ropes, introducing them to the “Lotus Fleet” way of doing things as well as ensuring that no one individual is forgotten about. Since the creation of Lotus Fleet I have tried to make it a point to meet and speak with every single member that joins Lotus Fleet, as it is within the best interest of our fleet and new members to have the ability to speak with the person that they look too and feel comfortable that their commanding officer shares their thoughts, ideals and concerns for a cultural Icon that is held so dear to everyone. However as the fleet has continued to grow it has become increasingly difficult to speak with everyone, however I will continue to endeavor to make this a priority to know the names of everyone in Lotus Fleet.

As we look to the future and what is in store for everyone, I am proud to be apart of a group that continues to show itself as wanting to be at the forefront of Star Trek Online news so much so that we will actually spend the time to seek it out, and now with the introduction of the wonderful forums that exist not only on hailing frequency but as well as Star Trek Online that news is not far from our grasp. I truly feel that Cryptic Studios wants the best for Star Trek Online just as a parent would want the best for their child, and it is with great pride that I can say that Lotus Fleet will be right there waiting patiently to experience the future incarnation of Star Trek into our lives.


Thank you and I hope that the next 3 months are as adventurous as the last 6 months have been.

Greetings Trek Gamers,

Kinneas has been in Vegas for Hailing Frequency since Monday August 4th however he has been having trouble getting wireless access, so we have not been able to go live shows every night as we had hoped.

I was able to hook up with Kinneas this morning and he transferred me around 8 minutes of Video Footage from the Vegas Trek Convention. We see various aspects of the convention plus what looks to be an early presense by Cryptic Studios and their PR Company, Reverb Communications.

In addition, we have a couple of mini audio interviews for you all - Once of which is with a Cryptic Studios Representative from Reverb Communications - Nate Walling.

We should have a TON more Video and Audio content tomorrow - and Kinneas will be hanging out with Nate Walling again for a little while where we will hopefully do a more extensive interview with him.

This is Fleet Admiral Nova coming to you from Las Vegas and I am pleased to announce that the individuals from Cryptic are really supportive, kind, and very willing to go out of their way to support their fans. The Treatment that Hailing Frequency and Lotus Fleet have received from the Reverb and Cryptic crews are by no small since of the word Amazing. As such Lotus Fleet would like to continue to express our gratitude to everyone at Cryptic and Reverb for such a great weekend and a spectacular reveal. Jack Emmert is truly an inspiration and a very easy going guy, not to mention his vision of Star Trek Online is one that will carry on the sole and spirit of Star Trek in all of our lives.

I would like to take the time to welcome our newest members to Lotus Fleet. I hope that just as our current members have found a comfortable place to call home at Lotus Fleet Head Quarters you too will come to believe in us and give us the opportunity to show you that Lotus Fleet is here to not only meet the standard for what a member would expect from a Star Trek Online Fleet but instead take that Standard and send it a nice welcoming Quantum Torpedo where we will blow away that standard and go above and beyond it.

Just as Cryptic Studios has been hard at work developing Star Trek Online, Lotus Fleet has been hard at work ensuring that our Fleet is more then prepared to undertake the greatest trials that Star Trek Online will present us. As we continue to build our Academy Course Content, we hope that within in the next month or two we will role out the first generation of our course curriculum, and to add as new information is released about Star Trek Online we will continue to endeavor to improve the Lotus Fleet Academy for all to enjoy and take part in.

As the command staff at Lotus Fleet spent time together here in Vegas we not only came closer as friends but increased our knowledge of each other and the camaraderie that I would hope our members expect of us, and as I sit here writing this address to the Fleet I am reminded of some advice that an old friend gave years ago. he said.. that in no matter what venue you walk into to as long as you are humble enough to appreciate that the individuals that are below you are not simply dedicated to you as their leader, but yet are dedicated to what you represent, you will never find yourself without allies or friends and yet as I sit here I continue to think about that very sentence and can not help but believe that Lotus Fleet has become not just an anxiously awaiting Fleet but yet an entity that goes beyond any one mans vision. That is why I would like to call upon all past present and future members of Lotus Fleet to continue to Join me in ensuring that Lotus Fleet holds true to what we as the fans Love and care about....Star Trek.

In today Web cast Mr. Emmert stated that Star Trek Online will be what we make of it and all they need is for the fans to guide them, in continuing to develop a game that we can all appreciate. So in response to this very statement, I would like to encourage all Lotus Fleet members to please continue to support Star Trek Online in these very forums as well as the Hailing Frequency Forums and help guide Jack and the developers at Cryptic by giving them good constructive advice in what features and content we the fans would like to see in Star Trek Online.

As of this moment, there are 53 official members of Lotus Fleet, and signs are it will only get larger. You may recall Emmert mentioning player created content, Starbases, Mining Complexes etc... should these projects require intensive materials and effort, then a larger fleet may be necessary, on the other hand, should these Starbases become available, to those with high end progression in the game, then a smaller Fleet would be best, in either case, no person in Lotus Fleet is looked over, all contributions will be noticed, however large or small the fleet is.


Other members with more experience in the fleet, will surely reply to this post, and we will all encourage you to sign, and be apart of Lotus Fleet.

I definitely understand your concerns. At this point my goal is to have at least 75 enlisted personel, 35 of which might be actually active at best guess. At this point Lotus Fleet is a military based organization specifically works within a heirarchy but it is a very welcoming organization. When it comes to the fleet, you pretty much can do what you want when it comes to progression, if you want to pop on from time to time you can, but don't expect to get far fast, however if you are pro-active and coming on to TS regularly and participating in the forums and so forth, then, expect to go far. Any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

Also, Lotus Fleet would also like to make every individual, every Fleet, and anyone else aware that the Lotus Fleet Academy will not only be available to Members of Lotus Fleet but the rest of the Star Trek Online Community.

We have geared the infrastructure of the Cadet Interface to allow individuals the ability to access the Cadet Interface with a unique user name and password that does not link you to the Lotus Fleet Membership database.

As a result the services that we would like to offer the community are for individuals that would like a beginner to Advanced degree of knowledge from one of our 4 schools of focus.

These Schools include

School of Science
School of Medicine
School of Engineering
School of Tactics and Security.

All information has been compiled into these four schools and has been checked and confirmed by our academy staff to be true to cannon. All Cadets will be required to clearly outline what focus field they wish to take part in, and as such a Cadet Curriculum guide will be transmitted to them, instructing them on what core courses, number of electives, and number of required courses are required to complete the Academy. Individuals that graduate with highest honors will have a special seal added to their Academy Diploma as well.

Upon release of STO. We will be adding to our curriculum departmental courses as they pertain to the game dynamics.

Also any members of existing Fleets that would like to take part in Lotus Fleet Academy. At this time our policy is that we will support this endeavor and as such upon completion of your Academy Training, a complete report of your transcripts and a copy of your diploma will be emailed to you and your commanding officer. Also please note that if you are a member of another Fleet, within your user name please abriviate your Fleet name. Example: {LF} Nova, {LF} Random Redshirt. Etc etc etc. that way it will make it easy for us to identify members of other fleets from individuals that are Fleetless.

In addition to these interactions, At no time during a cadets academy experience will they be approached from any of Lotus Fleets recruitment officers nor will they be subjected to any recruitment methods. The Command Staff as well as the Academy Staff all feel that a individuals primary focus while attending Lotus Fleet Academy should be solely on their course work and while it is a self paced process, over 6 months of course development have gone into this academy and as such we would like to see as many Starfleet Officers (oh and Klingons and Romulans and god forbid the Ferangi :-P) in this community take part in the hard work that everyone has put into this.

Lotus Fleet will also endeavor to work closely with Fleets that have not developed their own academy or do not have the resources in place to support a robust and scalable academy system, as such we will be more then willing to work with the Commanding Officers of those Fleet to ensure that their members have the opportunity to attend Starfleet Academy, and again all transcripts and certifying diplomas will be emailed back to the member and Commanding Officer upon Completion. As such through these interactions we hope to build some very strong alliances with those fleets so that when STO does launch we will have the ability to aggressively explore and seek out new life the way the game was designed.

As such please note that the Academies current status is Inactive as we are in the process of Populating our Cadet Interface with the courses and content, at which point we will be holding a Closed beta for Lotus Fleet members, that will let us get a better idea as to how everything will work and to ensure that individuals external to Lotus Fleet will have a positive experience.

As the commanding officer of the Academy, I have not been on here all that often. This is due in part towards my dedication of having an outstanding Academy experience for all who are interested. Keep in mind that even though the Academy will become active in September (mid-late), the content will ALWAYS be updating.

Myself and my staff will always be looking to add to and update Academy courses so that every cadet has the most accurate information, and the most enjoyable experience possible. As mentioned earlier, every cadet will have a UNIQUE diploma; these diplomas each have security measures in place so that it is very difficult to forge.

If you are not part of a Fleet, after your Academy completion, you are more than welcome to join Lotus Fleet.

I'd like to take the time to take a little excerpt from one of our RP episodes.

Niomo’s words were cut off as the station began to rock. “What the hell was--“ Again, his words were cut off, but not because of an explosion, but because Niomo’s train of thought was completely disrupted. As his team stared at him, Niomo slowly raised his hand and pointed at the horizontal tubes which contained the glowing light. As the team looked at what he was pointing at, Jenkins’ face turned white and Bria’s mouth dropped wide open. The Redshirts just looked in confusion at each other. The team was looking at a blueish white sphere with tiny circles rotating around it.

“Uh, sir, did we miss something?”

Niomo shook his head and regained his composure. “Yes, yes you did. That’s an Omega Particle.”

“An Omega Particle? Is that…bad?”

“I’ve only heard rumors, so I can’t be sure. But I once worked with one of the Voyager crewman during my first few weeks as an Ensign. He told me of how Voyager once encountered this Particle. Apparently Starfleet has its own division of elite Engineers and Scientists whose sole purpose it is to destroy these things. Usually Captains are ordered to remain completely silent about finding a particle, and are ordered to call these Omega Teams in to destroy it. But because Voyager was stuck in the DQ, Admiral Janeway was forced to tell her crew what was going on in order to save their ship. From what Janeway told the crewman, if this particle ever has an uncontrolled explosion, a large part of subspace goes boom, preventing warp travel in a large region. Permanently. I wouldn’t even know what we were looking at if it wasn’t for that guy. He died in a plasma explosion the next week. I hope it wasn’t because he broke any NDAs…As per this “Omega Directive” I am hereby ordering you to remain silent about the Omega Particle unless asked by a Captain or higher. I don’t need to get a plasma stream to the face for knowing too much, and neither do you all.”

Moments later, the station began rocking again, but this time, the team heard a loud explosion, along with a screech of metal. One of the redshirts shouted “There must have been a breach! How do we shut this thing down?!” Niomo was quick to respond. “Honestly, I have no idea. Admiral Nova should know what to do. We need to get off this station. Now.”

Teamspeak and Skype are two essential programs that the Fleet uses to communicate, and they're free! (for those of you that like Ventrilo more, we are currently looking into that as well)

For our weekly meetings on Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 PM EST, a lot of our members log on to hear what our very own Admiral Nova has to say about the status of the fleet as well as what the different division heads have to announce. Our newest members and our oldest come to these meetings, so everyone is included in the meetings. We also use Skype for text-based chat and at times also for voice, but most of our members have work, so they use skype to chat with text. During our weekly meetings, after the fleet heads finish reporting in on their progress, there is time to ask questions if there are any.

I'd like to take the time to talk about the Operations Division of Lotus Fleet. So, obviously Lotus Fleet is getting ready for the launch of Star Trek Online, and we're preparing for the game. Most of this preparation will fall under Lotus Fleet Operation, which includes, but not limited to, diplomacy, recruitment, fleet events, and as time progresses and we get closer to launch date, then our Fleet will be adding departments that are deemed necessary in the game.

Currently, Operations still has many positions still open, since some of our departments are actually still in their early stages. As far as diplomacy goes, we're working on treaties and alliance papers. We're also planning a couple fleet events, which include Star Trek games like Bridge Commander and Elite Force 2. In recruitment, we are working on recruitment procedures and policies, so new members can enjoy everything the fleet has to offer in as little time as possible.

As Starfleet said, the Lotus Fleet Academy is nearing its finally stages and we are all VERY VERY excited.

Now for an overview of what our academy is like, I will first be discussing the staff for the Academy. As you may know, Vice Admiral Athos is the Commanding Officer of the Academy division of Lotus Fleet, and he has the last word for anything in the Academy, so be nice to him. We also have our Executive Officer of the Academy and our Dean of Academics, these two people will be handling the cadets; however, the cadets will probably be dealing more with the Dean rather than the XO. We also have a full staff of Professors for the different professions such as Tactical, Security, Medical, etc. who will be helping students with their courses if they have any questions.

Now that you now know what our Academy staff officers do, let me take more about the actual Academy. We are planning to have the Lotus Fleet Academy as a kind of disjointed entity. Yes it is still part of Lotus Fleet, but anybody can go through the Academy, yes even those OUTSIDE of our fleet. During your time at the academy, you will choose your specialization whether it be Medical or Engineering, and then you will commence your courses as a first year student. After four years of the Academy (not actual four years, but four "levels"), you will then graduate and get a really, really nice Diploma, created by our very own Captain Kirkpatrick, your Dean of Academics. There will be tests and quizzes, but rest assured, it's not like REAL school, this is for fun and to gain some knowledge in star trek.

All Lotus Fleet members are required to go through the Academy, and prospective members must also go through the Academy before becoming an official Lotus Fleet member.

RPing is only a small subset of what we actually do as a whole, and to be completely honest, Roleplaying for some of us is just to pass the time until Star Trek Online comes out. Ahh so, it's my month's anniversary with the Fleet.

To piggyback on Triatom post. The Academy is getting Very VERY close to completion with more that 96% or the courses fully written. At this point we are loading our courses into our Cadet Interface which will be beta tested by the Academy staff over the next 2-3 weeks. We are shooting for a online date for all in early October. Just as Triatom said it will most definitely be available to all of Lotus Fleet as well as all other fleets.

We have 50+ courses that range all topics ranging from science to tactical to engineering and more. There is something for everyone. If you have any questions about the Academy which like I said will be open to all, Fleets contact either myself or Admiral Athos.
