Well, to be honest. If he wasn't that great, I doubt anyone would remember him.
So as good old Spock said, *does the Vulcan Salute* Live long - and Prosper.
Personally I see many similaritiy between Spock and Data.
But this isn't really about Data, it's about Spock.

Spock is definitely the man, there's nothing he doesn't do well. Plus he outlived the rest of the crew without hiding in a pattern buffer! So, he wins.

Pfff. The original series crew owns all androids and advanced supercomputers. They demonstrated time and again they can simply talk them to death.
Data's fragile mind would be confounded into oblivion by Spock explaining to him that everything he said is a lie, and that he was lying right now.
Remember, Logic is little tweeting bird chirping in meadow. Logic is wreath of pretty flowers that smell bad.

The best at what though. The whole original crew was great.
His character was why alot of people watched it in the late 60's. And yes I do like him above most of the other characters. Though Worf runs a close 2nd with the Doctor on "Enterprise" a close third.
Only Leonard Nimoy would write a book called "I Am Spock".
Still trying to figure out how on the cover of "Spock Must Die" it looks like he is in a radiation chamber. This was years before "Khan" was released. Its mute I guess.
