I'm pretty sure most of us really aren't shocked by how fast things are progressing for STO. They got almost 60% of the game assets from they-who's-name-shan't-be-mentioned-here, and with the resources they hired from them, they applied their game engine to it and were able to put together enough assets to have a viable build from which to begin the real development. I look forward with anticipation for the game play footage to reveal what it it they have in the works at this point.

Well, PE/P2 seemed to be going for a much more "realistic" look and feel... and what I see here looks very... cartoony. It does not inspire confidence... especially in light of Cryptic's track record. I want Star Trek... Online. Not "City of Star Trek."

I hope to high heaven that the devs have spent a good long time looking at EVE, Battlecruiser/Universal Combat, Mass Effect and the like.
