Just a quick question....
Could we possibly look at exchanging the Constitution pre-order bonus from Gamestop for a classic Klingon ship like the D7?
Thanks!

Well you're likely to get a K'tinga at least. Unlike the TOS/TMP Connys, at least the K'tinga looks almost exactly like the D7.

Not true.:D Those fans of the klingon battlecruiser can spot the many differences between the old D7 and a K't'inga class a light year away. They are entirely different ships with entirely different (though not too apparent to the untrained eye) proportions and hull shapes.
However, we have already seen the D7, we know its in game. Its the K't'iinga I am worried about.

Indeed, D7 and K'tinga both have many differences like BoP and K'vort but both designs share some features.

I want to know that also since I’m playing Klingons exclusively I’d hate to have TOS Constitution as my pre-order. I mean what the heck am I going to do with Connie as a Klingon?

True. Also, I like to know if that Borg Crew Member is able to be transfered to your Klingon Character, instead of your Federation one?

No point when the D7's already in. ;)
Now a D-4 or D-5 might be something interesting.

Yeah but do Klingon players get any pre-order bonus then, and what about that Federation bonus pre-order Constitution. I mean if they offer an in game exchange then that’s cool but if not then I demand the ability to use that TOS Constitution pre-order bonus as a target practice to improve my aim. :D

Right now, Klingons get hosed by the lack of a Pre-Order Bonus.
And hard to shoot against yourself. Unless you get another account, just to blow it out of the stars. :p

I too can spot the little differences, but I'm not fanboyish enough to point them out as if they matter.

Present your evidence of the D7 in game.

It appears in both "history" videos released by cryptic and gets a massive closeup in the PC gamer article that came out ages ago.
Its also not fanboyish to point out when a ship is not what someone is claiming it is. The K'tin'ga looks nothing like the D7 close up, and I have a good deal of familiarity with the old studio model of it. Its a vastly different ship with entirely different body proportions than the D7. The only thing similar is its basic silhouette.

Know if there's a scan of the article somewhere?

There was a D7 in ST Voyager that looked exactly like the K'tinga. So there! :p

The article was available for download in pdf format, I just can't find it anymore sadly.
However if you want to see the ship clearly, watch the Future's Past part 2 video, around the 2 minute mark. There are two sequences featuring the D7. One where it blows up some wedge looking alien ship, and another where 4 D7s approach a red planet as part of a klingon group.
Also, the "D7" in that voyager episode was in fact not a D7, it was a reuse of the low quality 3d k'tinga created for Star Trek Ds9. Its was a VFX error, same as the k'tinga that magically showed up in Enterprise :D
If you want to see the most "modern" version of the D7 itself in canon, you should watch DS9's Trials and Tribble-ations. They built a brand new D7 model for that episode, in all its glory.

I just watched the video again and the ships are too small and far away to tell in they're D7s or K'tingas. I don't know how you can tell so easily.

I can tell you, if you really wish to know :D
There are a few, easy to recognize differences between the two ships. The easiest, and clearly seen differences are on the ships head. The D7 features an ovoid bridge module, that extends over the "hat" deck and is NOT flush with it. The K'tinga bridge module is a solid, tapered structure, non ovoid and is flush with the hat deck. The ships featured in the video clearly have the ovoid bridge module, which can only mean they are D7s.
Furthermore, the head itself has a different shape between the two ships. The D7 has a very spherical head that slightly bulges out fore. The "k't'inga head is more squat, and was flattened at the fore most portion in the area around the torpedo bay. The ship featured in the video has the bulbous, full size head. Again, D7
Finally, the aft section. Hardest to note, the two ships have their nacelles set at slightly different angles from one another. The D7s are more angled, the K'tingas are more perpendicular to its length axis. The ships in the video definitely seemed to have the more "bowed" nacelle angles, though this one is a bit fuzzier.
However, the first two are distinctive features found *only* on their respective ships. Its pretty open and shut there.

Perhaps I should have opened the vid as high def and full-screen because i didn't notice any of those features which I am indeed familiar with.

Yes, you should have. Especially in the sequence where the D7 destroys the alien ship. you can clearly see background moving behind the ship in the area between the bottom of the bridge module and the hat deck. Besides the fact its obviously ovoid in shape, it also demonstrates quite clearly its not flush with the deck. D7 ahoy.
Also of note:
Bow windows: The D7 has them arranged in large porthole trios. Groups of 3 circular windows spaced at large intervals. The k'tinga has two rows of much smaller, densely packed circular windows, not in trios.
The single trio of large glowing bow windows is visible on the attacking ship in the video. D7 again. (it also lacks the two deck bands containing the windows the K'tinga would have in this location)
Trust me when I say the battlecruiser pictured in these videos is very much a D7. Plus I got to look much more closely at it in the magazine article :D

You may have to entertain the possibility that the ship we're seeing is intended by Cryptic to be the K'tinga and they got the model wrong...

I don't see why I need to entertain that idea. They are including the pre-refit constitution, why not the D7? Its clear they are willing to bend the rules here. Frankly, I don't mind the D7 floating around, so long as we get the option to make it a proper K't'inga. (via their much vaunted customization and such)

Use it as a hood ornament for your Klingon Battle Cruiser.

The two ships are so close to identical we will likely see one or the other as simeple ship customization options. Much as we "see" the Excelsior.

I'm just hoping the Klingons benefit from a preorder somewhere.
Heck, I'd love even having a pet Targ to grow with me and help out on away missions. Wasn't that the dog thing that Christopher Lloyd had on the bridge with him in Star Trek III?

Personaly, I would like it if all fighting triggered a red alert, with red alert kicking you outside your ship to fight.
But when all is calm, you can have adventures inside your ship, or even just customize it, walk around in it and so on.

In all fairness, this preorder should include BOTH the original connie and the D-7. Many will have toons on both sides. Also, that web site blocked your pic.. can't see it :(
