ok, will this be the type of game that will take me 2 weeks to get my hands on????
if so, I hope cryptic hurries up or the community will build up do much it will cause a warp core breach.

Hey after 5 years I can still buy WoW, SWG is still purchasable even the original DDO can be bought, so I doubt there'll be any sales dramas. There is also no harm in contacting your local game supplier and put the game on pre order or layby post release.

its unlikely to be sold out as it is not going to be released for several months yet.

also most modern mmo's have a digital download option and unless there is some kind of weird roll out plan those dont sell out.

That never happens to games. the only games it could possibly happen to are games with tremendous hype and publicity like halo 3 and MW 2. Its mostly just gamestop trying to push their preorders by acting like its impossible to buy games if you dont preorder them.

I heard a gamestop employee tell someone back before Halo 3 came out that he wouldnt be able to buy it until february (3 months + after release) if he didnt preorder it right then.

Even so, if you want to make 100% sure youll get a copy on release day, preorder it from amazon or gamestop.

besides even if you do install the game on your comp from a disk there will probily be 3-6 gigs of patch data made from the beta testing to download.

In the MMO world the concept of "selling out" is not really possible on a international level. Your local EB store might sell out the copies of the game they ordered but in all likelyhood you will be able to download the client right from the site and simply digitally purchase a CD key.

I think the last game I actually purchased was Everquest 2, since then every MMO that has been released always had a digital purchase option and a downable client.

Well MW2 wont be as good as MW, at least multiplayer part. Stupid move from IW

And I'm glad for that, if it were it would be reduced to a 9v9, no dedicated servers, and require Steam to run it. Not to mention increase in box price to console pricing range when of course consoles can trade-in their games if they want or whatever, yet PCs are stuck cause the registration code burns the game's imprint into your very soul.

I have never pre-ordered a game, and never in my life have I ever had a problem of buying a copy on release day.
