Massively is about to do a new interview taking questions from the fans.
Hopefully some new info will be released.
They are so hip deep in Closed Beta trying to fix stuff, it's hard to get alot of new info.
Hopefully that will change when Kling PR cycle comes.

but even then they will pick and choose what questions they want answered and will most likely be things we already know.

That's just the nature of interviews. It's really hard to explain a lot of things in-depth without pictures, graphs, video etc.
Most interviews are meant to hype the game and get audiences that previously didn't know about STO to have some general knowledge. Occasionally they'll throw in some new stuff, but not often.
You really won't have to wait long until you get a bunch of real info about the game. I mean, it's been said to be on pace to release within the next 5 months.

For the record, I agree. After reading about the same mission(where the miranda fights the two BOPs) about 10 times I just quit reading interviews. If something new gets released soemoen will talk about it on the forums, then maybe I'll go read the interview :p

Yeah, I understand that they have a reason for continuing to release the same basic info repeatedly (so that people new to the community who haven't been following it all along can still get understandable info), but anybody new who comes along can still go back and read the old interviews. It's gotten to the point that when I see a new interview, I always think sarcastically, "Oh, will we get to hear whether we can customize our ships, or perhaps even the general feel of space and ground combat?" I understand the interviews are probably meant as more of a primer, though, and that it can be difficult to synchronize the progression of info being released when the interviews are being done with so many different venues.

The interviews are for the people who actually subscribe and read the magazines and websites who interview the devs. They are not for the hardcore fans on this forum.
I'm sure the devs don't love the fact that they get asked the same questions every time and have to give the pretty much the same answer everytime because of their PR policy.
In each interview I find there is normally one piece of new information.

with Beta started, I'm sure game details are changing quickly, so it makes no sense to talk about details that might get changed in the next few rounds of refinement in Beta. I'm sure there will be a big burst of inof just before going into Open Beta. If they time the inof f just right they can have STO being a lead story for three months in a row in monthly e-zines. One is a big batch of info just before Open Beta, the second is about Open Beta the third is about Launch. Timing the publicity is just as important a getting the publicity in the first place.

It would be nice to hear more about how Fleets are going to work or more details about exploration, They've been very quiet about both.

From what I read, I don't think players can "die" in the game. But NPC characters most certainly can.
If someone died during the RPG, it'd be trouble trying to create new character after new character over and over and over again. That'd be repetitive, and would take some of the fun out of it, most certainly. You need to think these things through. Sometimes something like that which would seem a good idea on the surface, when looking in depth at it, it's a bad idea after all.
On another note with interviews...yeah they say the same stuff repeatedly a lot. Although then again, I mean, they did the same thing with the "Star Trek" movie that came out last May, didn't they? From what I recall they did.
I consider regular updates good news, which means they're dedicated to getthing things to work. I mean, "Stargate Worlds" has only had one update in the past several months and it was just mentioning footage seen in "Stargate Universe." That one is probably going down the toilet.
