I have already built my own bridge chair with my G-15, G13, and 32" monitored inclosed in a closet that is decorated to look like the inside of a shuttle pod ... I even included some fake controls and flashing lights.

The I have my Star Fleet uniform, and a full complement of rank pips so that I am wearing the right rank for the
right stage of the game.

I added a coffee machine off to the side decorated like a replicator, and a small fridge to hold my beer that looks like a fleet personnel locker.

I just didn't want to spend the money to put a bathroom in.

/sarcasm off

BTW ... I do know someone who is soooo into flight simulators, that he did almost exactly that with the closet in his spare room ... with three monitors, and that flight chair you can buy ... he did have to build an outter "shell" around the closet.

While I think he needs to be committed ... I have to admit it was fun, when I tried it.

Its pretty cold, so I'll be wearing my dressing gown. Sadly its not starfleet issue.

I could be convinced to wear my comm badge and rank pips on whatever it is I'll have on.

If only I could find out where the Betazoid took them . . . he's always making me use telepathy to find out where he left things . . .

What???

You don't want some 300 lbs, unshaven, 50 year old in his briefs and wife-beater to show up on your screen?

You're so judgmental.

What they do in their own homes matters not to us, it's when they go out into the general public (and not a Con of any sort) that can be a worry. But considering when you see emos, goths, punks and various other sub cultures a Trek uniform is pretty ok.

That's very true. Compared to some of the accessories some of the metal and goth crowds wear in particular a ST uniform is quite plain and not much different from ordinary comfy clothes. That said I have had my eye on a suit of armour sold in a sort of curiosity shop for several years. It's £1,500 or it was... but I'd rather save my money to put down for a house. Which reminds me, I have a pension to set up!

If I do want to dress up though... I suppose I could find my prop goatee for some Klingon role play. I have a little beard I used to dress up as guitarist Dimebag Darrell for a fancy dress club night.

Wouldn't it be funny if the game could detect whether or not you were "Star Trek Cosplaying" and give your in-game character a small buff if your were dressed appropriately IRL? ;)
