As posters move from this forum to the beta forum, this forum will die down to almost nothing, so I will
say that...what I can say, knowing what limited things I know, I have said.
and I will , for the most part, stop posting here until such time as I get into the Beta...
or not get into it.
I will check daily til I see some official word on how often they increase the numbers
This is not a I quit and walk away thing....it is just a process as folks move to a new forum.
See you there...if they choose me.

It will see some decreased action, but it will hardly die down. However, I hope you get in, and if you do, squash all the bugs you find! :cool:

not everyone will get in the closed beta.
Say 200K bet signups, say.. 5% will get in the closed beta. that still leaves 190K not in beta.

Many more than 200k, I would think. Star Trek has been a favorite with the public in one form or another since the '60s. I suspect the rush to play on opening day will crash all the servers over and over.
I want to buy my lifetime membership now!!! :D

Not all of us are in beta WE need our STO fix too :D

You are right on this not all of us will get into Close Beta. I would love to be in it but If I do not get picked it is not the end of the world.(Or will it be?)

On the contrary, as launch date gets closer & closer more new people will be coming here, to this forum, for more information. It will get a new influx of life with hundreds on new posters.
Not everyone here is going to get into Closed Beta - & if my theory is correct, then hardly any EU members will gain access (except those with guaranteed access) due to the time differences.
So, therefore this forum is far from dead or dying :)

I think the OP seriously overestimates the number of people that will be in CB. There are like 220k forum members...will even 10% get into CB? Still leaves 200k-ish. No guarantee everyone that gets into CB will be there for the whole duration, either.

False. There will ALWYAS be more people who ARENT in beta than who are. In other words, there will always be more people posting here than on the beta forums. Hundreds of new people continue to sign up to this forum every day. Plus, people who are in beta will still post here.
