Anyone who's followed my thread Wow, 4 "long hair" options to chose from... again. A rant about long hair in MMORPGs knows, I've been rather annoyed at the fact that MMORPGs since the dawn of time have had crappy long hair options for the male characters.

Well, another thing that has been sorely lacking and that needs to be included is the full beard. NOT the "Hey its a wild animal beard so it looks like it sticks out a foot from the face" or the "Abe Lincoln" beard, and especially no more "Hey we'll give you muttonchops or the beard the guy who since Triple H's song sports" but a real honest-to-goodness light beard that covers the face and DOESN'T look like crap. Because some games like Oblivion have given us access to a beard and you know what a beard entails? That's right, hey look there's a slider that makes the chin look darker - I swear its a beard!!! But really... it isn't and it doesn't look like it.

Cryptic, you've got to do what no man has done before - give us a better beard! Don't stop at the muttonchops, leaving the chin as smooth as a babies bottom, please! Thank you.

Beards, ah. I have never really tinkered much with facial hair on my toons. Dont really know why, but maybe ill customize a bridge officer so any androids looking at him say, "why does the tall man have a furry face?"

All Points bulletin does a great job with giving you sliders with hair too. And there are some neat things with the way they can shift hair around... Not sure if STO is even capable of that, but it's nifty.

CO has a pretty good number of breads to choose from. I have a nice shortish one on my tank. I think you'll be happy with what you find in STO if they use the same character creator options as far as beards go.

Plus, lets be honest, they can't ignore the mid sized beard. I'm pretty sure Riker might go crazy.

With Riker and Sisko as iconic figures in Trek lore, I'm sure a few options will be available. And with Klingons around, I think they'll have no choice but to have a good selection on hand.

yeah it's always hard to get a good mix of beard and hair, i always find that when i get a look i enjoy there's little things about it that never match, beards don't connect up to the hair is my major gripe, it makes them feel like very seperate pieces pasted onto the face, which is exactly what they are but it's not usually the look you're going for. My other gripe is sometimes it's impossible to get the same or even similar colour tone for beards as the hair, leaving you with a strangely multicoloured face.

Good Beards are totally necessary in this game...my fed alt aint gonna look like some 15 year old kid lol...I hope we can actuallymak our characters look aged and a little worn out
