So, is it just me or has it been longer than usual since the last update of the "Path to 2409"?

The videos give the general idea, but I like hearing what is going on with the characters. Jake Sisko interviewing Worf was great.

Seeing as STO has just entered Beta phase, I feel like cryptic is making some key changes that will determine what the final form of this game will take.
I'm sure the STO team is waiting for all the feedback they can get from the beta testers before they set the timeline of the future in stone.
So go easy on cryptic, I want Path updates just like the rest of us but the status of the game is still very fluidic. We still don't have an official release date or anything.

Excuses. The videos were nothing. Cryptic needs to update. The state of the game should not have an iota of an effect on the story this early. Got a lot of ground to cover. Get it done.

They're busy guessing what J.J. Abrams will do for the sequel to start trek i think. they wouldnt want to do a load of stuff on this alternate timeline then find its all set back to normal in the next film.

WHen a game is designed, for the most part, the history setting and background of the events of the game is already writen to several very detailed documents which are then used by the design teams to build the game up, without the history and setting for agame you find it very very hard to build up a decent level or setting for a game.
This doesn't mean that the process stagnates, if something happens internally (within the design team) which invalidates or messes up part of it, or simply they figure out some way to do something better, then they can still change it.
I'd like to see new updates too soon.

As we have seen from the videos that cover up to 2409, Cryptic does know the sequence of events for STO. The story of the game has been written, war between the Klingons and the Federation with the Klingons getting Orions, Gorn, and Nausicaans as allies.
Now what has not been set in stone are minute details that will affect smaller aspects of the game. For example, they might be deciding if certain species are popular enough (using beta testing) to decide if they want to make them playable for the Federation faction.
Two groups that are up in the air in terms of becoming Federation members are the Cardassians and the Ferengi. These are two of the larger powers in Star Trek lore, so this decision can't be made lightly. It will change the game and I'm sure cryptic does not want to give false promises about something in the Path that they will have to go back on when the game is released.
