Thought you guys might want to check this out, for the most part pretty much hohum, but keep watching, towards the end it gets pretty interesting. The final few moments really show what cryptic is doing with enviornments and it really wowed me, can't wait to see more.

I have to say, it is rather looking good on the game. I would really like to see more ground footage however. Did you guys see the gamestop Part 2 of the video, i saw an species 8472 in the game.
Cheers,

Interesting to see if the UI becomes less like the CO clone it currently is or not.

A couple things bother me: are there going to be ANY normal-sized interiors in the game, or are they all going to be mines-of-Moria style caverns?
Also, what's up with the power-stance when firing? The Starfleet officers all look like they're using chainguns, rather than phaser rifles which should be held at eye-level to aim.

From the looks of it, it's the same demo they had at Comicon.
I like seeing the Guardian world again, though I still don't like that pop-up window for the BO storytelling.

The interiors are optimized for the camera movement

Althrough I don't like the tall interiors, they make sense for a third person MMO.
And we know that there are chainguns in game, so maybe he is using one.

I personally think it looks fine, but it is perhaps a bit intrusive. Maybe if they moved it away from the dead-center of the screen.

I agree; the BO storytelling should be a flashing icon that the player brings up on command. Right now it looks like a pop-up ad...

Its the same demo from PAX by the looks as it, also most of the games magizines that have reviewed teh game seem to talk about the 'Guardian on the Edge of Forever' episode, you can however see the UI appears a little more polished now, but yeah, its the same demo as the other times by the looks of it,

I'll second this. One of the most annoying interface aspects is when windows randomly pop up without instigation. It would definately be nice if it appeared as your away team members icon flashing and when you clicked on it they spoke.

Well that's just poor. Game design 101.:(

Exactly, how I feel. If it was off to the side and not hogging so much of the screen, it wouldn't be so bad. Perhaps something like that was done with the Wing Commander games with the small visual screen and the text from the BO someplace more convienent.

Not a bad idea.

only thing i don't care for and it seems to be a trend in these videos we see are the run up and stand still and fire till someone drops, the devs talked about using objects to help get cover etc, but I have yet to see that implemented. As somone put before, so far the ground combat seems a bit plain and repeditive.

There's a game with 11 millions subs that has a main focus on ground combat without any cover, trust it it will be fun and ok.
