View Full Version : STO Beta (No it's not a complaint)

Well, I guess in a way -someone- could consider this a complaint. What I am wondering, are there specific day(s) of the week that Cryptic (or their automated machine) sends out emails to those that got accepted into beta?

Reason I ask, I -really- hate checking my email obsessively every 20 minutes hoping to see a email, it's just heart breaking. If anyone in the know could take time out of their busy, precious days I would greatly appreciate it. :D

Why would you check it every 20 minutes? I would assume they would give you an e-mail well in advance of their play test.

Cryptic generally only has servers open for a couple days a week, and only for a limited number of hours on those days.

So yeah, just check it a couple times a day would be my advice...

I suspect (i..e no clue, just guessing) it just depends on how their schedule progresses. As they meet their internal milestones they'll release new batches of invites to work towards their next milestones and the amount of concurrent players that'll take.

I really do not know but for your eamil thing just cheack it 3 times a day

1:When you get up
2: after eating supper
3 before you go to bed

That is the best way to do it so it will not take over you like.

@Tamgros: Well, actually when I got into beta for CO they shot the emails out the day after the last play-date for that week and gave no indication for it only being up on specific days, leaving quite a few people ****ed off, me not being amongst them. Also, every 20 minutes was an exaggeration, sometimes I forget that those things don't translate well into text. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

@Stalazon: Yea, that's what I figured, but I know that other company's prefer to send out emails on specific days of the week. Was just kind of curious if anyone had any idea if Cryptic was doing it that way, or just "randomly."

Apparently Cryptic sent out emails to everyone regarding a free weekend of play for CO; this concerns me and STO because I received no such email, yet my address is correct and the one I've always been using.. :(

I believe this has been cleared up a little with the Beta Questions Post.

when you log into the website the Accepting applications Image will change to you have been invited, or something along the lines of that... according to my knowledge

Hope that helps

Oh, and @ Topic: there will most likely be specific days when they send out invitations. Sadly, we don't know when those are. But you might imagine it like this:

Day 1: Playtime.

Day 2: The tech department works over all the data collected in playtime.

Day 3: Tech department: "Well, we got our stuff. To further our tests, we need some more people with Specs A, B and C and generally about 200 people more next time. Go and invite.

Still Day 3: Some other people start working over the applications to find the people with specs A, B and C, and after that, fill the rest of the 200 people demanded by the techs with people from the CO subs.

End of Day 3 / Early Day 4: Invites go out.

What's weird is, I'm a CO lifetime subscriber, I've received no STO emails at all, even though I should be getting them...
