if cryptic has promised that every single person who bought the CO deal will get into the closed(key word) beta, and the group is very big, then its going to take quite a while to get them all in. and since we know STO is going to launch in Q1 next year, that means that at the MOST, we're only 6 months away from launch(possibly less). therefore, it seems that closed beta is going to last a very long time, and the average person who applies will have a very very small chance of ever getting in.

All i know is that the AION open beta ended like a week before the game launched, so I think we can expect
a similar process here. Just my opinion though.

However, usually 7-14 days prior to release is reserved for the "open beta" (Into which you can get access much easier then into the Closed Beta, and in which you usually can talk about the game, which you usually can't during the closed beta), and the closed Beta usually ends a couple of days before the Open Beta. So, expect the closed Beta to run until aproximately 3 weeks before release.

That said: I still would expect that the CO-Subs get into the Closed beta well before this year ends.

And: It's normal, that more people apply for the closed beta than get into it. It's always a lottery. That's why some people bought the CO-Subscription.

If I'm allowed to make up some numbers:

Normal closed Beta: chance to get in: about 3%
Buy a CO-Subscription: chance to get in: 100%

That is, by the way, what has always been meant by "guaranteed". Your chances shot up from 3% to 100%.
