ok, we all know there is a big issue about the CO/STO beta package deals. we also know Cryptic has recently said that they will invite everyone who bought the CO/STO beta package deals into beta...eventualy. but examine closely the wording of their statements:
"Of course, invites are currently being sent to our CO lifetime and six-month promotional subscribers, they will continue to be sent to them until they are all in the beta test."

"We're at a point now where, like in Stormshade's post earlier today, that we're sending out invites and have made sure that the CO Lifetime and 6-month folks will for sure make it into the beta.
01:40 ~bizarro_rekhan And due to our CCU targets, we just can't invite a group as big as that into the beta right now. But again, everyone with a Lifetime or 6-month account is going to get into the beta"

notice that in each of these statements, it was stated that the CO people would get in "the beta", but they did not say CLOSED beta. however, the deal that was advertised garaunteed that everyone would get into CLOSED beta. so are the devs changing their promise about letting every single person who bought a CO deal into CLOSED beta, or is it simply a case of them not being specific in their statements above?

Even by reading your own post you should understand. The CO promotional deals guaranteed buyers access to closed beta. Even the statements above say the some thing... So, what is it that you do not understand? And there are already multiple posts on this same topic, so please use one of those.

no, the statements above do NOT say anything about CLOSED beta, they simply say "the beta". so the question im asking is have the devs changed their promise about letting every single person who bought the CO subs into the CLOSED beta? because OPEN beta and CLOSED beta are different things, and the statements i quoted above just say "the beta", not CLOSED.

Well if you want to be technical, than he also said that they cannot invite too many people into "the beta" right now. The only beta running right now is closed. Also notice he mentioned limits? Open betas only limit whether you're able to download and try in time before release. Patience.

Please the forums are bad enough as it is. Stop being pedantic just to try and stir up more trouble.
The thread title is "closed beta answers" so I think it's a given that when they refer to beta they still mean closed beta

Very simple:
If you bought a CO 6 month / lifetime subscription in your account its written :
Star Trek Online
Activated Features
* Closed Beta

I don't think being specific about closed beta vs open beta is very relative. Obviously it is closed beta and this is dissecting the issue too in-depth.
The real concern for most people is probably it being more now than later, with a particular focus on the now. Although you pay your way in, that shouldn't necessarily exempt people who did not. There is a fine balance between upsetting the many for the public vs the few who paid. They will keep to generalizations just for that reason and not to give empty promises.

NO ONE who paid for the 6 mo or lifetime sub in CO was promised closed beta on day 1. its that simple. these people will get in, just not nessicarily on day 1. everyone needs to chill the hell out

If you bought a CO sub, whether it's 6 month or LT, you'll see on your account where it states Star Trek Online Activated Features: CLOSED Beta...not beta...not open beta...CLOSED BETA!
I wished everyone would just let everything go about the whole CO subscription thing...

You seem to have missed relevant quotes, here they are.
If you have been guaranteed a beta slot, you are guaranteed to gain access during the course of the Closed Beta. Due to our requirements you may not make it into the first round or two of invites. But dont worry: More invites are coming!
Hey everyone,
I wanted to stop in and clarify a few things.
First, I need to tell you that the information Daeke posted back in September that has been quoted was incorrect. The people who purchased lifetime and 6 months subscriptions for Champions Online are very important to us. However, as much as we want to, we cannot accommodate all users who wish to play the STO closed beta on day-one. The server simply cannot handle that kind of load this early into testing. Please understand that this is very much a closed beta test.
Of course, invites are currently being sent to our CO lifetime and six-month promotional subscribers, they will continue to be sent to them until they are all in the beta test. We will also continue inviting remaining Cryptic / Atari friends and family, contest winners, and a few regular signups to ensure we get testing across the board.
Just as soon as we're comfortable and confident that our infrastructure will accommodate them, all lifetime and six-month subscribers will get in, guaranteed. I know you all want to know when this will be, and we're working on getting you all a time frame for when we will have all of you in the test.
Thanks,
Stormshade

Sweet Jebus people!!!
Lighten up, stop with the conspiracy theories, and just sit tight. Take a chill pill, rub one out, do whatever it takes to relief all that tension. You will get into CLOSED Beta if you have a CO sub. Have you participated in one of the devchats? The devs are getting questions thrown at them in a flurry, and if they stopped to wordsmith carefully every answer so that fearmongers can't break down their response and twist it into anything, then the devchats would only have like 1 response from the devs.

I'm swayed, this is conclusive proof that crpytic is in fact the organisation really responsbile for the assasination of Klingon chancelor that the Duros family were falsely blamed for.
These pahtk will pay!

Im sure cryptic is working hard to get out the invites in a timely manner guys. After all.... beta just now started like a couple days ago so its highly unlikely that everyone that got a sub got a beta invite the day beta started.

Guys, dont be paranoid now.
The Beta startet at 22.10 and we just have the 24.10. The Beta will run for Months. You will get in, because you buyed CO.
Be happy you can even say "I will definently be in Beta!" because I and much others cant say that.
Im so excited like you that Star Trek Online is so far right now. But you need to wait.

I think that Cryptic could have better planned out things and provided the necessary information to lesson the panic and the firestorm of threads that pop up every five minutes now.
I know they have internal concerns of their own with the Closed Beta, but there should be some sort of damage control/management going on right now to bring this to an end.

damage control related to what? Impatient users who cant deal with waiting a few days/weeks to get the beta? I dunno man. I don't think this situation warrants damage control, just a few pills of Zanex for those who are too jumpy.
This level of paranoia is ridiculous. Dok_Rock was right. Stop with these absurd theories. Cryptic is't lying or trying to deceive you. So what? Who cares if you aren't the first person in the beta test?
Anyway, simple fact is that Cryptic promised that CO lifetimers would get a beta key, guaranteed. It never says anything about WHEN.
And why would you want an early beta anyway? wait a bit so some of the bugs have been worked out. This isnt about wanting to "test" the beta. this is about wanting to "play" the game, which is NOT what you are supposed to do when beta testing.

For the start of closed betas only a set number of people are invited so that they can make sure that the servers can handle the load. Over time they will invite more people. Most of the time they only start with one server. That is how it has been for most closed betas I have been in. Even when guaranteed a spot I have never been in the first round of invites.

I would expect them to ramp up beta access fairly quickly because the engine was already test-driven during the CO beta process. That means less time dealing with stability issues and more emphasis on game mechanic bugs and exploits. Just my guess though.
