Good Afternoon:)

Ive played eq1, eq2, ddo, and several other mmo's. Something Ive noticed is that during the latter years when fans move on to other games after 10 or more years, the fans that are left find it hard to get a group.
Eq1 and DDO created henchmen and mercenaries to help with that problem, but Cryptic already has that group problem solved from the get go.
I think its great you have NPC Bridge Officers that go with you on away missions. I will be able to explore and adventure for years to come! Besides BO's look like they wont cost me hundreds of platinum to operate or run, thats a plus :)

YAY!!! For STO,
Sincerely,
Jodyy

Welcome aboard!

There are lots of other improvements to the genre that STO will bring to the table. I'm excited too! Check out the stickies at the top of the page, the developer interviews are FASCINATING.

Hi and welcome.

Yes, if they can deliver a good solo game experience together with great group/fleet experience, then they have a hit on their hands. Games have to do everything well to be succesful now a days, they cannot be good at one thing only.

I'm exited about this game, and I'm really hoping "Cryptic gets it right" just like you said.

They wont get it right. This is an MMOG which stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Game. On top of that they are releaseing the game half done because they were too lazy to put in the work. We are supposed to wait for certain key races and interiors for a future expansion that may never come. What Cryptic fails to understand is the ship was as much a star of the shows as those who played the captain and crew.

I think its wicked what they are doing and you are way off mark, this game is going to be epic, all the previews already make it look incredible and its not even in beta yet!!! i think they are doing a great job and i don't think they have really even touched on the majority of the game. All they have talked about is game play not much else, we don't know what kind of PVP will be happening we have some speculations and they are teasing everyone as well saying well maybe ;) i just think they are doing a fantastic job and everyone needs to let them do there work and stop complaining how they dont think they are doing it right. If thats the case try and make your own MMO and see how well it goes.

Way to go Cryptic!!! Cant wait to play it kills me ever day i go on these forms and cant play the game!!!

I agree on this too. I played ddo as well and I thought the henchman were a nice touch. I never really had a problem finding groups though. also I hope they make the missions half as interesting as ddo's are. I dont know any mmo that had such interesting and puzzle filled quests. I've been in groups that just straight up gave up on quests because we couldn't figure something out.

Lets just say we agree to disagree. If Cryptic wants me and my friends subs for STO they have to proove their way was best.

Thats a little uncalled for, interiors will be done after launch..and other races in expansions...the interiors should come soon after release...the other races probably a year+ after release but im sure the game will be great at launch even without interiors. If you would just be patient and wait for those updates then maybe you will be satisfied. Your ship in the game is important, you get to name it and customize the hell out of it too. Alot of people will say "how are you so sure"? well, just look at the PAX videos.

We all know where these high expectations stem from: PAX.

everyone I can think of who played it at PAX had positive reviews, though it could have just been the heat of the moment lol.

There's a reason they spend the money to go to these shows and try to get you to sit down and play the game with someone whispering marketing hype over your shoulder ... "heat of the moment."

I know what MMO stands for, and in a perfect world, I would always have friends to play with. Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world and I can't always play with my friends (my work schedule is really weird, so I log in at different times over the week). I would love a game that offers good solo experience on top of great multiplayer experience. Actually, the way things are now, games have to offer a good game experience for all kind of players if they want to be successful.

I will hold to my positive thinking that Cryptic is doing a good job so far. Once beta is out and we get more game info and beta player feedback, then I will decide if they "are doing it right" or not.

I will respect your critical opinion of any MMO once it has been released and you've tried it and it has failed to entertain you enough to pay for a subscription. But I don't think anybody should respect the opinion you've just offered now.

I'll just wait until the game is released until I give it a pass/fail. Not to be a spoilsport for those reading these websites with reviews, etc, it is pre-determined that it gets a good review.

If these websites in question decided to put out negative information about an upcoming & UNSOLD product then they would never get access to an unreleased product in the future.

It is common sense, nothing more.
