How does the Community Feel (Oct)

Ok i wanna start a thread bout u guys and how u feel from month to month

post in here all your concerns, worries, annoyances and such things.

this is to gauge how people are feeling at the moment.

for me:
i'm pretty annoyed that little or no info has been released nearly 6 weeks after the application for the beta was set up.
angry that 3rd party companies seem to be getting more info than us behind closed doors (sure it would be different if it was a short term plan)
annoyed that we, the community, pick up and have to display to the rest of us the titbits of info lying around the internet long before the devs do...

don't get me wrong tho, i am so excited for this game but i've seen myself and afew othe that we're getting impatient at cryptic for the lack of communication

There seems to have been a good chunk of information filtered out over the past month. A lot more than we were getting in say March.

I am pleased with the progression. It is not exactly how I would want it, but its better than not getting anything at all. And of course 3rd Party sites are going to be getting 'the scoop'. That is how they get them to run the article for STO. If they posted everythign here first, there would be no reason for other sites to provide free publicity for STO.

I do not feel that Cryptic is ignoring the community.

Overall, I feel this is on par for development of an MMORPG.

I just feel eh right now. I play WoW and I'm used to this kind of thing. Information for an MMO takes a long time to get to the players. So I just do what I'm good at: wait while talking with all of the forum members on various threads(for this game at least). Pretty much all we can do for now.

The info should be getting released more quickly now as the closed beta approaches. Give them some more time and your annoyances should subside. However, if Cryptic PR doesn't start loosening their neck ties on Klingon info soon they will have a riot on their hands! :)

I am very happy, because they are sitting on at least 2 big secrets that could make the entire industry look at STO when it launches. They are very smart about this roll-out despite some people's angst. I can't stay away from these forums because I want to know every detail, every post, every interview, and catch the next big reveal.

I feel pretty assured and confident of the game, and the content thats been given thus far. And as for the Klingon side of things I'm sure they have alot of things planned for them and will start dribbling teaser stuff or more info in the next couple months. Patience is key when dealing with an MMO and its industry that revolves around it, ;)

I feel good thank you for asking, and im pleased with the info we are getting. And ofc very exciting about STO. But i would love a small update of ships of the line so all the klingons would be pleased :p (im not one of those btw :p )

I think they did do well this month releasing information, and if you look over time, theres a bit there.
Take for instance the amount of screenshots out there, in our gallery (http://www.lonestarfleet.net/index.php?option=com_oziogallery2&view=05imagerotator&Itemid=75) we have about 50-60 sto screenshots or so but im pretty sure there are like 70-80 of them out there.

Deyvid from Bok I believe has done a good job of creating an archive out of all the interviews and such, and I think rekhan and staff did a good thing with the ships overview information block that was updated not long ago.We also got stormy back here on the darkside so; pretty sure we'll be updated when there is an update to be shared. I like that I can log into twitter and catch updates too. So yea at this point, im not unhappy with the information flow especially since its starting to ramp up. I think were all waiting for a good video of content and some insight as to when beta is going to start.

However, the path to 2409 has come a bit slower recently and I think the klingon ship releases should get a little love too, other then that, its going good.

By and large I am not too worried.

I think the "relative" silence atm is because big things are fairly imminent *cough*..beta..*cough* and they are likely in a state of waxing the floors and polishing the china before opening the doors..

The only concerns I have if ANY would be:-

"how much" PVE will be available Klingon side based on some recent comments they made. As a game with two factions and only oen available to non pvp'ers would be very unappealing to me personally. PVE or PVP should be a choice either side can make.

And also why the non combat apsects of the game have been pretty much never featured, or mentioned beyond the Genesis content. It does worry me at times that Trek may potentially have been dumbed down to a glorified shoot for the RTS/FPS crowd who all get over excited whenever some new Combat detail.screenshot or video is put out..

Beyond that I am relatively unconcerned in any degree.

Neo, I like this idea alot, its almost a way to summarize all the crap thats going on out there into 1 constructive thread that people can post in. GREAT WORK

Im worried (i know nobody wants to hear it) but mainly about the lack of Klingon love, but at the same time im maintaining hope that the reason there is a lack of love is frankly because the devs are busting ass on the beta launch and havent had time to give us some info latley, Hence the lack of the path stories or even a screen shot friday....
