After reading the article from GameShak I came across a sentence I got confused with.

Star Trek Online is currently in closed beta.

Have I missed something?

This is True an Not True at the same time. Yes there is a Closed beta for Friends an Family of Cryptic's people but not a Close Beta for us the public yet.

This might be an appropriate moment to mention that I am illigitmate and may actually have been fathered by a member of the Cryptic team.

Read this:
Craig Zinkievich: We are taking beta applications now, and started taking them at the beginning of September. We are, um, just on the doorstep of going into closed beta. I don't know if it's alpha, but we do have people outside of the company already playing the game. We're in the home-stretch in terms of developing the game. We're definitely moving into the lock-down and feedback stage. It's really, really exciting.

I can not say your not telling the truth because I do not know you but it is odd that you did not know that last bit of info I posted an the day you joined the site is a bit off to me. July 2009.

It's a notch on a progression chart for their readers.

If you haven't gotten an email stating "YOU'RE IN BETA", then... you're not in Beta. Whether they're actually in BETA, only the people participating in BETA will know and won't be able to comment if they are or are not in BETA.

We, the general public, are not going to know where they currently are in the progression chart until they decide to make an annoucement. Until then... plug in your favorite movie, play your favorite video game, and wait along with the rest of us.

That's inaccurate. :)

The dev said it was inaccurate. The closed beta hasn't started.

Why yes you have. I received my Beta key several days ago! Where have you and everyone else been??

I'm joking. No, it's been stated by the devs, as I assumed when Gameshark stated that Closed Beta has started, that the statement was inaccurate.

The date was just a give away if he did know some on that was working there then he would have been here from the star not one year latter.
