Klingon Info

I know this has been done to death, and a dishonourable one at that, but I feel it's time we had some more information from the Klingon side of the fence.

We have a "complete", at least at launch, list of Fed ships available to each profession (class) and at what tier or rank, also we have a general idea on what roles tactical, science and engineering plus their respective ships will take during combat.

Will the KDF offer the same professions or will they differ? What ships will be available (though I do imagine a small BoP to begin with)? What will the ranks and how will it work within the Klingon houses?

As we ramp up closer to beta (I'm thinking end of this month beginning of next at the earliest) I feel it'd be nice for those who wish to play Klingons have some more information, at least to the same level as the Fed side.

Forget it. They don't want you to know that in order to play the missions you gotta do it in a Fedrat ship. Klingons will only be in PvP....watch and when it happens, I'll tell ya I told ya so.

While I agree with you that some information on the Klingons would be nice, the devs have said that they're not talking about Klingons yet. Cryptic, not you nor I, will decide when it's time to release information on the Klingons.

Actually have been here since PE days, just a had a slight hiatus for a month or so....I thought it was the 137,483rd thread on this topic. Just decided to revisit it since things seem to be ramping up toward Beta and there are some new folks here, such as yourself, whom I've not seen before...of course like me they could have been on hiatus as well.

Clearly, the thing this forum needed was another Klingon whine thread. Way to go. I shudder to contemplate the QQ when people find out that Klingons won't be available at the start of closed beta. It will put the WoW forums to shame.

Hopefully soon. If they are scheduled to release early next year they have a whole lot of info to get out. Just look at the Fed ship list. They would have to give us at least a ship a week! Unless they are going to release a bunch of info at once.

In your user control panel you can set it to ignore users.
And you can report posts with the triangle on the left side under the avatar.

If you really have a problem with him, just open his forum profile and add him to your ignore list. The forum software will reduce his posts to a small notification of the fact his posts are hidden from you - because he is on your ignore list.

It's better than moaning about it and killing someone elses thread as a result.

Just because someone is a new member doesnt mean your copy/paste applies to their thread. This thread is asking when the Devs plan to start releasing Klingon info, not anything related to all the links you just posted.

He's only trying to inform people that there are ways for they themselves to come up with the information that they're seeking. Not to mention he's right, there's already a multiple amount of threads on Klingons. Here's an answer to all of them:

PF doesn't abuse the responses, nor does PF spam the boards.

I haven't seen Falcon respond once to a thread, where there wasn't 3 or 4 active threads on the very same topic. That makes the response appropriate ... there's enough traffic in these forums and things fall to the bottom fast enough that we don't need 3+ threads on the same topic.

Sorry but I'd have to weigh in on the side with Nagus on this one. There is a difference (IMO) between helping to guide a new user to sources of information, and just spam-slamming the same message over and over that doesn't necessarily answer their question. I think the latter is more detrimental to actually welcoming new users to the forum. Especially when more experienced forum posters laugh about it. I would imagine the new user who posted an innocent question isn't going to come away with warm-fuzzies about being 'helped' in that fashion.

And yes, I know there is an ignore function. But I don't use it because the non-spam posts by Falcon are worth reading. IMOHO. It's that my opinion is that these slam-spam posts are now something of a joke rather than actual help for the user. If it was a user asking a general question along the lines of "Hi, I'm new, can someone please tell me where I can get information about the game?", then yes, Falcon's posts do provide links to that very subject matter. However, when they pose a specific question and they are greeted with a generic vomit of links that do not answer their question, then it's a useless post.

Take the question and answer in this thread. Falcon pointed out there were three other threads about the subject. Okay, good. But then doesn't link to any of them, and instead posts general information links. It went from something that could have been helpful to the new user, to nothing that an automatic script couldn't do.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to tear Falcon apart, or have some vendetta against them. I just think that the idea of helping new users has gone from something that was a good idea, and morphed into something that isn't very helpful and more of a slap at them. I really don't see it much more than a tarted up "RTFM noob". At least that's my impression.
