So almost every system onboard your ship will be a paperdoll that you can replace as you get better weapons, shields and such.

It is a new page although some of the information might have been posted somewhere else in the past, just not on the official site.

Slightly worried that they did not mention any customization for your Warp Core...

Loading nothing but photon torpedoes on a ship, <removed for irrelevance>, will make a ship very effective at taking out an opponent’s hull

:D:D:D:D

also I did notice they made no mention of several other important systems; warp core, warp engines, sensors, EPS, computer core, cloaking device, maneuvering thrusters....

photon torpedoes ...

It was said by Zinc at pax and the game describers there too, that torpedos are limitless, now we have to load lots of them ... doesnt that contradict the fact that they dont run out, or does it mean fitting nothing but torpedo launchers etc etc ..

Given how things seem to scale down from expectation, I would take that to mean those systems do not exist in STO Paperdoll.

I think they mean it is possible to have no energy weapons and only torpedoes on your ship. Load as in load out, or hard points.

Yer could be , that kind of makes sense , more so for say An Akira with a torpedo arm !

Lol, I thought that was a funny comparison they used. Trying to picture that one.

I'm thinking you might technically be able to do it, but your seriously hurting your ship, because you cant fit your photons into your phasers slots, so your just not equipping weapons into all the slots you have available.

This I believe. Basically you only load in Torpedo launchers in your weapons slots.

I had always thought you would be restricted to the type of weapons you carrier -- ie 5 Beam weapons, 4 Torpedo weapons, but here it seems he is saying you ave 9 'weapon' slots.

It is a common MMORPG game term.

In computer and console role-playing games, a paper doll is a way of representing a character's inventory and currently used equipment.

In games that use a paper doll inventory management, the different player characters are usually shown posing the same way. The equipment sprites (or 3D models) are then added on top of the character, similar to the paper cut-outs in real-world paper dolls. This is sometimes done by dragging the items in place, or by selecting them from the list. Sometimes, there are also multiple poses, for example, there may be two different poses, one when a one-handed weapon is equipped, and another when a two-handed weapon is equipped.

Typically, the paper dolls are a separate part of the inventory management. Sometimes, however, the in-game character sprite or 3D model itself acts as a paper doll on which equipment can be put; an example of this would be Ultima IX: Ascension.

I'll go with that....cryptic does seem to be rather adept at lowering the bar.

I'm sure, or at least I'm hoping, that over time that page is expanded on. Nice to see an update to the page. Seems, though the devs have been rather silent, we are getting more regular site updates.

There has been confirmed maybe at this point as far as fed cloak goes... but as far as warp core or engine mods if you all will go back over the comments about engineers that is part of the skill tree, basically they go modification or maitence, and this seems to be the trend for all 3 trees. You get certain abilities based apont your Boofs and that your/ their abilities will modify the systems that you guy are stating not being mentioned here.

So all the sub systems are mentioned its just they arnt part of the ship skill tree they are character skill tree.

Is sounds like it should be called a "blueprint" instead of a paperdoll. IMO
