Let me preface this by saying I have in the past had my issues with Cryptic's games. And, their current other MMO, CO is somewhere below underwhelming to me. I, like many others, beleived closed beta would have started by now. I am also one of those that has a guaranteed spot in closed beta so i have been anxiously awaiting it. I, like many others, also beleived there would be a great deal more info than we have gotten.
However...
Apparently almost the entire Crytpic team is extremely ill at the moment. A major flu outbreak, which could be dangerous in this day and age. This sort of outbreak at an office can cripple a places operations for several weeks. I beleive they intended to have this extra info and possibly even closed beta rolling by now...then they all got sick. SO, what we are seeing is the few that are still standing (if some just barely) doing what they can. Zincs interviews, the stuff from Awen and Rekhan here and there so on and so forth, but with the lack of the support people behind them what they can do has been limited but they have been attempting to give us...something.
I for one want to commend them for their attempts at working through a major office illness and trying to give us something, even if it isn't always what we want, or not clarified enough for us to see what they really mean. So... anyway...thats all I have to say about that.
And besides, with them all being sick, I think its a Romulan Tal'Shiar secret plot to sideline this game and drive people away untill they get to be playable :P
