Personal Shuttlecraft

im wondering something, will we be able to have our own personal shuttlecraft in game for us to use such as when our ships are docked being repaired, i dont want to be stuck in a station when my ship is in repairs, im not sure if other people feel this way but i would like a nice Delta Flyer to add to my invintory of shuttles on my ship.

At launch we will not have personal shuttlecraft.

Also I highly doubt that there will any kind of extended wait time while your ship is being repaired/re-crewed at a station, if there is any wait time. This is one of the things that falls into the category of STO being a Star Trek game and not a simulator.

We might be able to. After the first trailer for the game came out (a long, long time ago, in a Vegas Convention far, far away) there was speculation about this because you can barely make out shuttle like objects flying around during the battle with the Borg.

Uhm.... exactly how long do you think you'll be docked while you're ship is getting repairs? Hours? Days??

Most likely all you have to do is click the button that says "Repair" and the certain amout of credits is deducted from you and your ship is ready to go in seconds.

now that is what i'm talking about, race ya around the star base at warp 1, first one to hit 500 light years around the star base wins!! man i know its gonna take a while for things like that to happen but i'm sure the design crew will be able to make things fun in shuttles.

yeah i agree that upgrades and repairs most likely wont take too long, but it would be cool if we had a captains yacht for pleasure cruising and personal lesiure :D

You Know I think i like this idea,Captains have personal runabouts don't they? And it be fun during down time. Skimming through a astroid field or such...lol it would give you a more personal sence of emsion in the game.

Would be interesting to have that element finally put in a Star Trek game, but I doubt were going to see it sadly. I don't think Starfleet command did a good job with it.

just don't let the vulcan give you a mind meld, you might get one heck of a trip with that romulan ail, not sure how long you would be out for but u will have one heck of a fun time!!!, just wait till we get back to the ship, ill make sure the shuttle right back is a bumpy one! lol

Probably one of those "add later" things, but I think having a "Captain's Yacht" for each ship would be a sweet add-on in game. I could use it for trips to Risa! :cool:

One possible idea for a Shuttlecraft being implemented:

You're participating in a mission which requires you to board a space station/planet or something, for whatever reason you cant use the transporters to get back out again, find your way to a Shuttlecraft somewhere on the station/planet and fly back to your ship.

That is the most likely scenario at launch, and I am guessing ship
launched shuttles will not be in until we get ship interiors.

I would love to be able to have a personal shuttle, be it the captains yacht or something like the Delta Flyer. I dont think it will be in the game at launch, hopefully later on.
I like the idea of trips to Risa, much needed RnR after a battle with the Borg ;)

I'd like to have my own shuttle that I design like the Voyager crew built the Delta Flyer. But as has been said until we get interiors it's probably not going to happen. We also need the ability to fly shuttles not just use them as a loading screen to get from point A to B.
