I dont know about you guys but im so going to be trekking with a playlist full of old and new star trek songs lol.
Perfect for setting the mood anyone else gonna listen to some trek songs? new or old.
And if so what song?
Me some older themes and the new 2009 soundtrack ^_^

Personally, I am hoping the in-game music is ST enough that I do not have to overlay ST music on it.

I'll probably be playing some Benny Hill music whenever I chase my miniskirt clad female crew around my bridge. Other than that not sure.

I'm just hoping that the in-game soundtrack will be sufficiently Trek.
If it isn't, I will be confused and disappointed.

I expect in game soundtracks to be something new but trekish. I never use a in-game mpg player but I just may do that for STO. I really want to hear old cannon trek music.
And wouldn't it be cool if they played the fight music for Amok Time during ground combat? Oh yeah that's nerd goodness baby!

if they have the rights to the ip music I would like to have access to all of the music from the series and movies. I remember reading that there is a STO sound team making new sounds as well.

probably THAT maybe a bit of the ST theme from TNG+ maybe even some of the original ST theme (no mater how bad it was)

Personally I'll problably want to use in game music. I rarely turn in game music off. Although it will be hard to resist putting on the voyager opening credits theme when I finally get my Interpid class ship.
I swear the entire opening sequence for that show was great. A Epic journey home, Seeing sights noone has ever seen, great music.

Yeah I loved that intro too. The visuals are great and that theme just makes you feel it.
I won't be playing the themes, but I might be humming them while I play. They said there will be voice chat right? I'll have to be careful about that...

Even if it is sufficiently trek. The problem with MMO music is that after a while it just becomes repetative. No matter how good the songs are.

If I get bored of the game's music I'll probably switch to some Trek tunes, yes, but I think for PvP I might try stuff with a little more fun like Alexisonfire or Depeche Mode or other.

Personally, I'll be playing the Enterprise Theme the first time I fire up the game. :) Yes, I know it's not that popular but its very appropriate in such as case. ;)

I'm looking forward to hearing what they do for the Klingon's it better not be star fleet crap although i do like the ST music it just wouldn't be right to log into my Klingon for the first time and hear that.
but if the music sux Ive got lots of megadeath metallica black sabbath and stuff to put on the speakers as im blowing the crap out of you feds :)

They Should have Klingon opera playing the Background for the Klingon side

I'd actually love to see them use the same composer / style as the music from the old Interplay Trek games. There was some surprisingly good material in "StarFleet Acadamy" and "StarFleet Command". If the music is comparable to that we'll be in good shape.
