Hey there, guys!!! :)

OK, let's say you're a PvP or Combat-Oriented PvE Captain, and you just upgraded to a new ship. You can tell it's powerful--more so than your previous ship--but you want to test it out, see just how powerful it is.

Do you:

a) Go to a PvE area which has Enemies which gave your previous ship a hard time

b) Head straight to a Zone where you know a PvP Battle is currently underway, and join in

c) Go to an Empty PvP Zone and broadcast to the other Faction: "I seek to test my new Ship. In order to do that, I challenge your best Warrior to take his Ship and Fight Mine, One-on-One!!!!!" stating your current location

or d) (if this is available in-game) Engage in a Tactical Combat Simulation using your new ship against someone from your faction

Also, if someone from the other Faction chooses Option c and you hear their challenge, do you:

a) Ignore it, and let someone else take them on

b) accept their challenge, announcing your decision to the rest of your Faction and telling them to stay out of it

or c) gather a bunch of friends together and give your opponent a battle he won't soon forget

Personally, in the first scenario I'd go with Option c, and I'd go with Option b in the second scenario.

How about all of you guys? :D:cool:

Option b) Find a PvP battle and join it. With the power of my new Starship i will bring destruction to those who oppose my Faction (SF or KDF i have not decided)

Scenario 2

Option B) Accept their challange.

I can understand a captain wishing to test the capabilities of his new ship, I would do the same. I accept his challange and tell my friends (who are undoubtedly with me) to maintain a respectable distance.

Of course, my friends would have orders to Step in and finish the fight if the enemy captain actually managed to defeat me. Clearly the test would be over.

None of your options are anything a sane Federation officer would do.

I would take it on a long journey and test it's scanning range, top speed, fuel efficiency, and overall ability to discover new civilizations and make peaceful contact with them.

I would choose option D, why? Because I would not want the enemy faction any chance to see the awesomeness my ship will output during shakedown.

Starfleet does have a few warriors in its ranks, and I am honored to include my STO Main among their number. :) He's also something of a Modern Samurai. :D:cool:

If I plan on doing PvP then take it into the nuatral Zone and see what it can do.

Win or Loose you now know its strength and weaknesses

Kirk: Sulu, lay in a course for the Neutral Zone!

Sulu: Sir?!

Kirk: Follow your order Mr. Sulu.

Sulu: (sighs) Aye Captain.

*Checkov shakes his head sadly*
Checkov: Shall I go to weapons Captain?

Kirk: We are going in Hot and Heavy Mr. Checkov, Scotty I want maximum warp available in two minutes. Uhura send a general message to the kilingon fleet "This is KIRK, and I challenge any Klingon within range of my voice to ship-to-ship combat. I have a new ship and wish to test it against your best warriors!"

Spock: WTF?!

I admit that Kirk wouldn't try Option c--he'd probably try Option d, or maybe b. Really, your personality determines which option you choose.

Also, my scenario assumes that you've already completed a basic Shakedown cruise and found and fixed any little bugs that your ship may have. :D:cool:
