Ship class creator

I did a search and didn't find anything. It would be really neat if a player could create there very own ship class. Let's discuss this feature and improve upon it. And if you created your ship class of course you could name it and other people could choose the ship class that you have created. Discuss.

I don't think this is a viable feature. Look at the majority of fan created ship classes. Regardless of how you feel about their looks, they tend to be moronically overpowered. Giving people this power in the game will likely result in the same problem, even if limitations are placed on it.

The customization which Cryptic is already giving us for our ships is more then enough in my opinion, the ability to create your own class from scratch would be a horrible mistake.
