question about mobs

I was reading a thread and it had grinding mentioned and I was thinking, what is there to really grind on i mean are there going to be hundreds of little ships or space wolves or somthing, With out doing missions and going down to every planet you come across there doesn't seem like theirs much to explode in space.

From what we know so far, it sounds like character advancement will be based on completing missions, not the typical killing of NPCs like in most MMOs. That said, I would assume that you also gain some kind of "experience" from fighting.

When you kill a mob in space which is not a mission specific mob you will receive :

correct me if i am wrong, but are not planets in space? aside from gasses and other space annomolies such as black holes, i think the exploration of space is to locate new worlds to explore.
that said, it was stated in a dev chat that you can advance soley on PVP, so i would guess if you chose to find a mob of little ships or clearing asteroid fields, then you could advance in this matter.

Yeah, i just assume that Individual ship kills will award you either a skill point or a % of a skill point. Or items that you can Exchange somewhere for skill points. I dunno.

Go into PVP and help your faction take a starbase or planet or just simply go and look for some fights against other players. If you are good then you will be able to get some good exp. destroying enemy vessels. Otherwise, in the PVE all you really have to help you progress is doing missions or just going to random worlds and going down and seeing whats there.
