Release date on Amazon

I checked Amazon today and found out that Atari has a specified release date for pre-order.
March 31, 2010.

like gamestop told me when i pre ordered starcraft 2 it was going to be christmas of 2008 or 2007...its been in the making forever and now they are doing 3 different launches so its just speculation the only real release date will come from cryptic and no one else so anything you hear is a lie

Really it all depends on how far along the game is. Champions online beta went on for just shy of a year once F&F wrapped up however it was a different beast. If a majority of the content for STo actually is already done then I could see it being released in six months. After all the CO preview testers actually helped beta the game engine so hopefully all that data has helped make STo a more mature product at this time.

Also the STo folks have been working on their game/content the entire year that CO was in preview. It wouldnt surprise me at all to find out that they were much further along the content delivery curve. Only time will tell :)

Well, Cryptic has said that they want to release the game by or during the first Fiscal quarter of 2010, so planning around that would be best I think.

Cryptic knows the date, but no official announcement yet. All they've stated is "Early 2010".
