plz plz plz

do NOT make it so we only have a fist name . Alow us to have a first and last name .

DON'T pull a tabula raza and make it , all your characters have to share a last name ,
DON'T pull a starwars galaxies and if u make a character then delete it u cant use the name again ( not sure its still like that )
DON'T make it like wow where u can only have a first name that lots of people just turn into a "witty sentence"
anyways

just give us a first and last name space. The combination must be unique but the first or last name could also be used by somone else just not in the same order

if the game does take off and i hope it does , this will mean later on down the road people wont have to call themselves stupid things (like Captnschair or somthing equaly stupid) because they cannot think of a name that isn't already taken.
allowing a first and last name would make lots of people happy.

also on a side note it would be cool if we could have a first and last name and have the option of not having to always display both ... this really wouldn't be a problem . if u needed to mail something to someone u would still need to enter the first and last name it would be purely for looks

(all in good fun, please don't take that too seriously :))

Cryptic has said they're using the @(account name) naming system like Champions Online iirc. So, someone else using the name you want shouldn't be a problem.

There's already a threadnaught with this topic (although it's derailed, but it just won't seem to die. It does have some dev responses on the naming system, though):

I would imagine that they will use the same system that Champions Online is using, where the actual character names are not unique but rather your accout name (which is the name you are known as on the forums). In Champions Online you are allowed to have spaces in your name and the total length of the name is 32 characters.

We've got a 200-post thread about this already. Let's keep it there.
