Wondering if its possible in the future to be a pirate faction and if it will be possible to hijack ships, like what the Ferengi tryed to do in STtng? It would be very interesting to see what Klingons would do with a surrendered Galaxy cruiser....:p

They've talked about perhaps making an independent faction that might have these types of abilities, but not at launch.
At launch you may have episodic missions that require these kinds of actions, but it won't be involved with the main PvP or anything. IMO, that would just start getting weird. I doubt either faction, Fed or Klingon, would really have the other side's ships in their military.

Definitely a cool concept. Maybe hard to implement with the PvP setup though? Since, so far, I've heard that PvP will only be in certain areas and consensual. Would be funny to see a bunch of pirates jump some people in the neutral zone though.

Star Treks good at being weird:D Its nice to hear that the developers are at least open to these ideas. I wonder what kind of faction would be best for pirating, Ferengi or Orion syndicate? :confused: I wouldnt like to see Klingons flying around in Fed vessels alot, it would be a little confusing. But then again, a good PvP mission could be something like a klingon crew has taken over a Federation vessel with a skeleton crew and must "limp" it back to Klingon space to be stripped of weapons and technology.
So Orion Trade Federation wont be in at release!

Pirates...heh. Sorry had to chuckle a bit at that. I cant think of many later star trek shows that dealt with pirates much. Just petty thieves, and Ferengi....

Well at least not as a playable faction. Im sure we'll see them flying around causing trouble. Im sure future expansions will gift us with all the cool factions! :cool:
