I read the IGN article where Marissa Monera writes:

Because you are a captain of a large warship with theoretically hundreds of thousands of crew on board...

This doesn't sound right, those ships must be really really huge then, did she get this info from Craig Z.?

There is already another post about this. Most likely a typo.

probably either misheard or had a typo that they didn't pick up on. Why? The Galaxy class ship (i.e. the Enterprise D) had a full crew of over 1,000; imagine how big the ship would be if it had 100,000 people.

Yep, I've got the link for it here (it had fallen to the 3rd page, but still a great little thread imo hehe):

Who is Marissa Monera?

And I wouldn't lose any sleep over it whomever she is. There won't be hundred's of thousands. I suspect it was an exaggeration to make a point. But since I don't have context, I'm not worried about it.

I really like that quote, to be honest. Very funny. Hey, if the game lets me fly around space stations then I'm all for it! Haha.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it, I am sure this is a typo. Unless Squirrels are federation members now and manning ships or something.

Well if you beam a Tribble aboard...

It was a typo. The "F" and "R" keys are pretty close to each other, and showroom floor reports usually mean typos find their way into Word docs.

What, no federation city ships? Dangnabbit.

(fun fact: Firefox's first though on how to correct 'Dangnabbit' is 'Dangerfield')

Not all IGN staffers are Trek fans, especially those who are covering a convention or gaming event. And often if these are updates from a show floor, they're entered on a smartphone or other handheld device, which are more typo prone than a keyboard.
