Beta Preview vs Closed Beta...

Just wondering, as I was taking a look at the CB application form, and being a CO lifetime subby (I am still not sure that was a good idea but it makes economical sense, long term) when did Closed Beta become Beta Preview?

I only ask because it appears the goal posts have been moved again. Beta preview? So we don't bug hunt, help drive the gameplay? We do get a behind the scenes access to the game but that's really about it?

Beta preview conjures up a very different image to the Closed Beta's I am used to.

Any chance a dev can clarify this latest and greatest use of the english language?

There is a number of steps that experienced MMO users are comfortable with, and that most Developers use ... but there's like no regulatory agency out there telling gaming companies they have to do X, Y, and Z or how to name the cycles .... so who knows what a "beta preview" is.
