New Videos Please

I know everyone at Cryptic is working hard and we in the fan base truly appreciate it. However it has been more than a year since a game play video has been officially released for us to watch over and over (at least I do). When watching the four part video footage on YouTube taken at Gamescon I kept screaming "move the camera to show the whole monitor", not just the top half. There really was a lot of detail missed IMO ( I know this was not Cryptic's fault..BTW ). Please don't take offence at this Cryptic but don't you think it is about time to release some more videos. I would really like (and I think I speak for others) to see some videos released on a more regular basis at least one a couple / few weeks. Even if it is just show more variation on the same thing other already shown in other videos. I for one would just be happy with just some video / sound captures coming from the the game. For example just like the things shown in the Gamescon video. Speaking for myself here there is no need to put a lot of production into it by worrying about music overlays and logos / marketing to make it all a pretty package, although I think Cryptic personnel might debate that so they keep their image untarnished. Please, Please, Please give us some new stuff to drool over until the game is released.

I know it's (probably) not gameplay footage, but Tamgros had a 30 min interview with Zinc today. A new video would be nice, though. I like this week's screen shot.

If you are talking about the one at the URL below then yes and that is a great example of what IMO I think the community would like to see alot more of. I still want to see the one where they were escorting the vulcan ambassador but got attacked by Klingons.

Not to take away from teh OP's request, but I am not really understanding the call for a new video, in light of the Games Con videos -- the Presentation video and the 4 gameplay videos.

I mean, those two seem to show a lot, and definitely seem to be current with the game. Is there something specific you are looking for that these videos do not show?

With regards to the UI, UI's change a lot through out beta, so what they are using now, is probably going to change 3 or 4 times before release (just my opinion/expeirence).

To be fair they weren't really allowed to film in there, so we're lucky we got what we did.

There are a few things that I would like to see.

* Warp speed navigation
* Ship selection / customization
* NPC character interaction.
* Non combat related gameplay ( there has been alot of requests for info on this topic in the forums)

Well the sector map, ship customization, and some NPC interaction are shown in the 4 videos linked above.

Non-combat stuff is still basically in the planning/discussion phases, so they probably have zero content that they can show right now.

It is just sort of strange, as we went more than year with a single video, then we get 5 videos -- 4 showing actual gameplay (albiet partically obscured by long enough to translate the gist). I think we sort of have more than normal -- especially when you consider that there might be another video at the end of PAX. Seems like a lot -- more than I have seen in other games at this point.

I'd really just love to see the footage all the game magazines have gotten to see during recent conventions. Just a quick idea of what ship battles and/or ground battles/missions would be like would be awesome.

No new vids and no new path entries make Trekkers... something something.

They had a very good extended length video with new and old footage showing on the big monitor at PAX. I'm not sure who the lady was that I spoke to, but she said they'd try to get it online on Tuesday next weekish.

I agree that those four videos on Youtube were great except for the fact you could not see everything. All I am asking is that they just take little snipets like that and put them online every once and a while. Not too much to ask for. The fact that we have a a few lately is great.

We're getting them lately because Champions has released. It's not hard to understand: CO got first dibs on PR, then STO.

So now that CO is out then we should get more on STO, course what I really want it a release date. But I am happy to wait until they know when it will be ready for release, I will just tied myself over with all the other content they are giving out.
