Don't worry - there won't be any pink Federation starships. Yes, I asked.
Damn! I really wanted to fly a Hello Kitty cruiser!

I had a feeling strengths would be in space flight and combat and away stuff might feel...off.

The space combat so far looks very promising. In the article they are on the fence about ground combat, and that is my impression from what I have seen so far.

Yet another preview with nothing new and barely previewing anything. If anyone would like a real preview, buy the October issue of PC Gamer.

He was just offering his impressions of what he played.

Kotaku even noticed the ground combat looked a little um.... rough. I am a bit concerned after hearing the last Ask Cryptic when they were asked about enemy AI. The reponse pretty much if he has a melee weapon he is gonna run up to you. If he shoots then he trys to stay a distance a way from you and hit you. Duh. Thats pretty much a City of Heroes AI. I want a complex AI even if it makes the game come out longer . Enemies should try to duck behind cover and the like. Not play some sort of range tag with your avatar. I want to my enemy to be smart not some flailing about enemy just trying to always keep ten paces from me while firing a phaser.

you do understand that ground combat has been worked on for the past...what 3 months? compare that to the space combat (which everyone currently loves) which has been worked on for the past YEAR. dont worry about GC being rough. its not done yet, lol.

I find the comments by the readers more interesting than the article itself. These are people (apparently) looking from the outside in, who don't appear (on the surface anyway) to have an agenda.
Some of their comments ring true to the same concern we fanboi's have here in these forums.

Eh?
You have to remember, They made the foundation for star ship battles within weeks of gaining the license. I'm pretty confident that ground will get its kinks knocked out pretty shortly.
