Will they be doing the console side of beta later? I take it by the fact that the computer specs are mandatory in the application that this first part is PC only.
last report is they're still negotiating for consoles, beta is PC

Cryptic has said, and I believe them, that they are ready to lock and load with the console client ... but they can't get through the bureaucracy of Sony and Microsoft.
Which usually means those two want rights, a percentage, or that the client only connect to a console server, or, or, or ....
The great thing about big corporations is they can bring cool things to the market ... then there's this side.

i am already beta testing on my andriod phone ..... :rolleyes:
We hold out hopes for a mac client before release still.

I'm hoping it runs on the monitor built into my refrigerator, so I can play while I'm cooking.

dont even dream. MAC is on the backburner until the game is out. Come back in a 6mo to a year post launch.
id say the same with consoles, but from the article I read on Kotaku about CO v MSFT, I doubt a year is enough. but you never know.

In my opinion MSoft and Sony will decide after seeing how popular ST:OL is... I'm talking about date when open beta will 'take off'. When Cryptic will be able to show them how many people has registered etc.
But in economic way they will be in disadvantage if ST:OL will become something like Hit-of-the -Year (or something), and Ecliptic will be able to negotiate more money so the project will be able to 'grow' faster (more money -> more workers -> faster working and upgrading.

Hey now ... enjoying cooking has nothing to do with other preferences in life. LOL!
You can comfortably rest assured MY WIFE, enjoys my cooking. I make a mean chili, spaghetti, clam chowder, and tortilla soup when I'm not hitting the BBQ with the steaks or ribs.
