When your ship gets destroyed to you lose your ship or respawn at a ship yard or something? Curious how this will work.

I'm not sure on the whole process. I do remember them saying that you won't lose your ship when you die, though.

They have not gone into details, but Craig had mentioned respawning back at a starbase, with what ever DP mechanics they put in.

I'd hope they would implement a system where if your ship got destroyed, you'd respawn in a starbase but with your ship somewhat damaged and you'd need to repair it and perhaps purchase some minor items again.
Simply penalising for death has been done to death in many other MMO's. Let us for once choose how soon to get back into the action or something along those lines.

I'm guessing the penalty for dying will losing experienced crew members or something.

About the only thing we know is that you and BO's don't die ... that your crew (the red shirts) can die but are nominal to replace.

If you die, your episodes in STO get cancelled and you have to seek permission for a sequel from Paramount.

In reality though, we know your Red Shirts can die. I also hope there's some sort of re-spawn limit or timer in PvP areas. Defeating the other side would be pretty hard and pointless if there's no way to actually take them out of the fight.

A spectacular lightshow!

You and your ship slowly disappear.

Then there is some background music and darkness.

A huge old dried out door slowly emerges in front of you starting as a dot and comes towards you. It gets larger and larger, until you are standing right in front of it.

On it, there is a metal knocking handle with an emblem of a turtle shell.

Curiously, you pull on the metal object and you hear a huge bang coming from what sounds like an empty hall behind the door.

Slowly the door creeks open and to your amazement

You see Lurch with a Klingon Forehead peek from behind the door and with a huge baritone voice he says.....

"YOU KNOCKED?"

In PvE I am hoping it will be a flight back from the docking yard and repairs. I know, very wow ish but it seems to work in PvE. I also would not be adverse to experience penalties as that will stop people ofr the most part from just suicide runs.

In PvP I hope for a lock out timer or a debuff so there is a way to overcome the other side. I am anxiously waiting more information on the neutral zone so we can see how this will all play out

Had to change it up a bit, goes better with the Klingon turtle skull to match the door knocker heh.
