Let's admit it. Canon is full of complete contradictions as new shows are written and old references forgotten.
This is a humorous look at many examples.

I would like to see this incorporated into the game. Mission chains that have unimportant dialogue say something on the 4th mission that totally reverses what you KNEW you heard in the 2nd mission. Some device that has one property when you have to go get it in mission 1, but is completely different in mission 3 of the chain.

I would find this clever and funny and a nice addition. It would make a fun game out "find the mistakes" when you start a mission.

Hmm.. who says it's actually mistakes? Even seemingly contradicting canon actually doesn't have to be contradictionary at all.

Like in real life people in the shows have oppinions too or view things from another point of view, or are sometimes misinformed themselves. :p

Your idea might sound like fun, but to me it would probably be a huge frustration and I'd end up reporting it as a bug all the time. ;)
Unless it's actually clear that the 1st person didn't have access to the full information that another person, later in the episode, has. For example a foot soldier might have an oppinon about an enemy that is very different from that of a general. In that case I could live with it and probably enjoy plottwists! :D

My gal and I were just watching all series on DVD for a refreshment of universe info and lore. It was apparent that a lot of script writers had basic understanding of the universe.

Voyager it seemed, stomped all over canon to fit a plot, the others only waver periodically.

Erm I am all for letting Cryptic do their own thing but to purposefully ignore cannon and make things different from mission to mission seems...well retarded? This makes no sense what so ever!

What about the possibility of working some of these numerous contradictions into background text or comments made in missions?

For example, discovering species that reused the exact same make-up (like the Dopterians & Kobheerians or the Trill, Kriosians & Valtese) are in fact all members of the same race... one group is just a long lost colony or some such thing.

Another example, beaming over to an alien ship whose bridge is clearly just a redressed Federtion bridge set. On of your bridge officers in the background mentions that their controls seem "oddly familiar".

You could go on and on with stuff like that.

You could even go so far as to make the resolution of a contradiction part of a mission - like Enterprise did when they explained away the difference in the Klingon foreheads between TOS and TNG.

BTW - Ex Astra Scientia has a great inconsistencies page (http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/inconsistencies.htm).
