It's going to cost 14.99 per month to play. Pretty standard. How do we know that? Well it's 59.99 for a 6 month of CO and ou "save" 29.95 if you get the 6 month sub. Divide that by 6 and you get 14.99.

Divide what by 6 and get 14.99? The 6 month subscription offer works out to $10 a month. The month to month subscription is 14.99.

Yeah, I highly doubt STO will be different from CO when it comes to pricing.
Unless they both went up due to inflation, or something. I don't think that'd be the smartest of moves, though.

59.99 (cost of six months) + 29.99 (what you save by picking six months). Divide by six and you get what you pay if you get billed monthly.

Why would they charge more for STO than CO? Give me an example of another MMO company that charges different monthly fees for the games they have. Honestly I don't understand why this is still being talked about.

While I highly doubt that they would change pricing plans between the two(seeing as how they are going to use the CO model); I won't believe anything in pricing terms until its official(especially since they confirmed microtransactions).

I don't know about now, but at one point Sony charged different rates for different games, when EQ2 launched at 14.99 EQ1 was still 9.99 if i remember right. Also Everquest Online Adventures, the PS2 MMO was 9.99 while the rest were 14.99, which was then raised to 12.99 and finally in october '07 to the MMO standard of 14.99.
While I doubt Cryptic will be doing different monthly fees, It has been done in the past, even if they aren't currently doing it.

59.99+29.95(that's what you save by buying in bulk)=89.94....divide that by 6 and you get 14.99.

Who said anything about them charging more?

It's hardly news, though. Every MMO since 2004 has cost 14.99 a month for a basic subscription. That's the 'going rate'. Unless something changes between now and when STO releases, I have no doubt that will be the price.
As for special deals and whatnot, 6 mo/Lifetime subs, etc, that's where you'll see the variation.

Pretty sure thats incorrect I know FFXI(which is one of the most subscribed to titles; even now) isn't 14.99 and something else I have played wasn't as well but the name slips my mind at the moment.

It's not incorrect as in the majority of your popular MMO titles that have come out since (and including) SWG have charged that.
Saying it's the "going rate" doesn't mean everything holds to that standard, just says it's likely that's what you'll encounter.
Like someone telling you the going rate for laser eye surgery is $400/eye. Doesn't mean you won't find someone doing it for $250 and it doesn't mean someone isn't out there claiming their the eye-surgeon-god and charging $800/eye. (Those prices completely made-up for the example ... no idea what laser eye surgery costs.)

Nothing out of the normal, wonder if they will offer the lifetime member ship for that same price they are doing for CO.

Maybe you missed the part of the quote(which I quoted) that said "every mmo". <_<

The original reason I was going to reply to this thread was to say that I'd love to play this on PC, but if they're charging monthly for the PC version and not the XBOX, then I'll go XBL since I'm already paying for that. Was there ever any actual news about monthly subs or anything new about the xbox version?

While I can certainly understand the frustration that lead to there post, you are absolutely right, ranting back about it will not help the situation at all. Now onto the real topic, whats this about xbox live affecting the STO cost?
