Are all current Ships of the Line Finished?

This is indeed a bit of a rant, but I believe it's legitimate. Are any of the current displays of ships we see up for further tweaking / detailing? I ask in a minor regard of the Excalibur class, but my main concern is the Vigilant and how it looks ~ I ask this simply due to the lack of detail on the model, there's really is no comparison to what we've always seen in our favorite escort.

It's by far the most bland model of all ships seen thus far. One can argue that we shouldn't expect the developers to put that much detail into models, and you can't have too many of those ships causing too much processor lag. The thing is, that was done already for a game that came out years ago:

I've still got no issue at all with the look of the streamlined ship, it's actually pretty cool. I also understand the challenge of mixing and matching parts from the variants ~ But it simply looks very much rushed and incomplete with a lacking texture job. If this is how the Vigilant stays, I sincerely hope the Defiant and Gallant look more rich and defined.

I think what Manta is saying is that the ship models do not look finished, not that the ships of the line series is over. While I don't really think they look all that bad. I do believe that StormShade's comment is accurate.

That would be a news event I would love to see: "We take you live to Los Gatos, CA where a large mob of what appears to be people dressed up as Klingons {insert explaination for those whom have been under a rock for the past few decades} with torches and homemade napalm, among other makeshift weapons, have gathered out side Cryptic studios. We have not figured out why they are rioting...Lisa do we know why they are.........?"

why cant they hype us up when STO is like 2 weeks away from closed beta?

even tho i liked the video, i would rather wait till 2 weeks be for closed beta to watch it, other then watch it now and get hype up and still wait for closed beta

I know what you mean, it's a bit of torture... But maybe think of it this way. If it looks as promising as it does right now, imagine what it'll be at release. My fingers are crossed ~

See, what you see as lack of detail, I see as them wanting a streamline look. To me it's like they made a dolphin and you want it to look more like a puffer fish :p

But I do agree with you in general, detail is good.
