I just had a thought a little while ago about phasers and their various settings. On the show, a phaser's strength is increased or decreased. The lowest setting just stuns you where the highest setting vaporizes you and everything in between.
So what happens if you want to stun someone in STO who is using a personal shield? I mean you'd have to punch through their shield first to do so, but at such a low setting would it take longer to punch through than if you were at maximum setting?
I mean will we have to jack it up to 100% power to punch through the shield then "hope" we don't accidently vaporize them before we set it back to stun? :D
It makes logical sense that it would be this way since it's putting out more power, but for gameplay's sake I wonder which way it will go...
