Its that time folks (lunch) and now to occupy some of it, I thought I'd give a list of some Bridge Officer/Ship abilities that can be added for STO. This is mainly for the Feds.

Science
------------------------------------------
Sensor Ghosts Provides multiple targets on an oppsoing ship's sensor screen, confusing weapon's targeting and potentially diverting enemy fire.
Computer Virus: A computer virus which effectively disrupts an enemy ship systems at random thus slowing their effectiveness or rendering certain systems completely inoperable. Deadly if it affects a ship's life support systems.
Mutagenic Virus: A torpedo equipped with a bio-weapon which introduces a virulent mutagenic virus into the ship's atmosphere, killing, incapacitating or otherwise reducing the effectiveness of enemy ship's crew.
Advanced Evolved Computer Trojan Effectively takes complete control of an enemy ship's systems and places the ship under allied control. Can only be disrupted by players with appropriate abilities.
Modified Probe Kinetic Torpedo For those science ships in a tight scrape, this ability allows the conversion of a standard long range sensor probe (provided that some are available) equipping it with light explosive material. Penetrates shields easily impacting on the hull causing moderate to heavy hull damage.
Temporary Sensor Jamming A manipulation of certain transmission waves which effectively disrupts enemy ship's communication abilities, and sometimes disrupts their weapon's targeting systems.
Boosted Long Range Distress Call Boost communications power through narrow beam frequencies which allow a distress call to be sent farther and faster, normally resulting in allied ships coming to your aid. (a summoning ability which not always procs)
Dilithium Decrystalization Torpedo Can only be launched when player possesses XXX amount of triparnothasized hydro-tillium. Torpedo pierces hull and releases an ionic radiation which renders the dilithium crystals in a starship innert, rendering their warp drive inoperable and incapacitated once energy reserves depleted. (rare ability)
Tactical

Phaser Overload A surge of power redirected to the phaser banks/cannons which effectively increases their effectiveness. Increases recharge/cooldown time of phasers.
Tactical Energy Inversion Beam An energy inversion beam that can hit shields or a ship's hulls. When hitting a ship's shields, this effectively drains them quickly without causing kinetic or explosive damage (very good for taking over and boarding a ship). When striking a ship's hull, it effectively disrupts energy distribution.
Tactical 5 torpedo Spread Standard torpedo salvo. A center torpedo is configured to include straps which allow four surrounding torpedos to interconnect. They can strike all at once, or disperse for wider area of damage. With improved torpedo guidance skill, torpedo salvos can disperse to hit different targets.
Gorn Made Donut Torpedo A torpedo filled with gorn made donuts. Solely meant to pierce the hull entering the ship. Once discovered by repairs crews or security forces, opens to reveal a cache of Gorn Made Donuts which thus distracts large portions of the crew, reducing their combat effectiveness. (this ability will no doubt require a cooldown time).
Over Powered Positive Trans-Ionic Beam Cannon/Array An advanced form of ion beam which when fired at an enemy vessel causes a surge in energy which often overloads ships systems causing shutdown of certain systems and can sometimes result in warp core breaches. Because of the the variation of ionic particles, the beam is attracted to energy sources which thus allows it to 'travel' to different targets thus effectively damaging multiple vessels. There are diminishing returns however. If a Negative Trans-Ionic Beam is fired at a different enemy vessel, then when the two beams meet at an alternative target from traveling, negation occurs which more often than not results in a large explosion.
Over Powered Negative Trans-Ionic Beam Cannon/Array An advanced form of ion beam which when fired at an enemy vessel causes a dramatic energy drain which can effectively disable a ship's shields and potentially power down engines, weapons, or other systems or radically reduce their effectiveness. The trans-ionic nature of this weapon allows the beam to travel to other energy sources (i.e. other ships) thus damaging as well. If this weapon intersects with a Positive Trans-Ionic Beam, then the ship of intersection is violently destroyed.
Engineering

Makeshift Cloaking Device A makeshift cloaking device which functions for a certain amount of time.
Secondary Auxiliary Power Activation Only miracle workers can pull this off. When all seems dim and nigh with your last drop of auxiliary power gone, kick in your SECONDARY auxiliary power.
Short Blasting Phaser Equippied Torpedos A photo torpedo that is equipped with short blasting phasers which essentially weaken or destroy the shielding on a particular area where the torpedo is aimed to impact, thus increasing hull integrity damage and increase shield penetration effectiveness. If enemy's shields are already weak or down at the point of impact, then the phasers can effectively 'drill' into the hull of the ship causing further system and hull damage. Very deadly.
Modified Deflector Dish Allows the modification of the deflector dish to enhance it's repulsive abilities pushing ships away. When coupled with a tractor beam, this can cause significant hull damage to a target ship.
Skills and Abilities to "level up"
