Or you might go through each other to prevent abuse.

BS saying the word ...."gay" after a sentence isnt something that will get your account kicked and if it is then KICK me..<RIDICULOUS> GIMME A BREAK man , I actually have quit a few gay freinds and they dont mind at all if say something like "Oh maaan thats sooo gay!" And to be honest they use that phrase themselves quite alot.... its an expression, borne out of humor not meant in malice, and if you or anyone else think otherwise I got 5 homosexual friends who will tell you that you are overreacting and to chillax man. Theres nothing wrong with using that word. The whole world and probably even the people who run these forums use it whether they are straight or gay. And you will find that the phrase is especially prevelant in the states. So chillax duder its okay man.....

Im in the UK, and i think people who would use it as a derogatory word are not only narrow minded and shallow but trying to point out that a group of people are in a way bad.
Weather you like the word or its use or not is not the issue here and i dont know why you chose to stick your words in, You dont seem to realise that, there may be a great deal of people who think its acceptable BUT there are a great deal who think it is not. !!
And i have reported this and i want it taken off.
Your personnel opinion on the matter with respect is not needed. Its taken by some as offensive, no mater what your take is, theres has to be seen as well, and this thread was pointed out to me by someone who took it offensively. Im stating what theyd rather not get involved in. But i have no intention of letting them feel picked on just because i dont want people to see me moan, or make it out ot be biger than it is.
Theres 2 sides to every coin, what someone sees no harm in, someone else is offended or tired of. If you cant see that, then you have problems and i pity you. And its not okay, that some people feel like its a statement against them, Its neither ok as you put it or right.
Just becuase people dont moan about it and stand up for them selvs, i play eve and wow and lotr and things like this is how something that seems like nothing can slowly get bigger and become something bad. I for one dont stand for it.
And in A Star trek game forum where everyone and every species etc joins together it shoul dbe looked at in all sides and all points of veiw, for you to belittle mine because of your own personnel opinion and not taking into effect others opinions. is not a good thing.

Like I said chillax man... what if like my buds and me somepeople DONT have a problem with this word??? You are imposing on them... look Im not advocating it if it is used in an unappropriate way or in a deragatory way, I dont like or appreciate shallow minded people, all I am saying is you are making a big deal out of this and to CRITISIZE and berate someone and the "TYPE" of person they are just because they used a word in you dont agree with is pretty unaccepting.

It was stated in an interview, that you will indeed be able to ram people but it wont be an option you can use all the time, it may be an option when say your critically damaged or have no other viable means.
And you will be able to do damage when ramming, but there still working on that aspect of it.
People who think they can ram constantly may be disapointed. But its definatly something you can do at a certain time. And there will be damage from it. To both sides.

ALright alright if someone DOES have offense with something then I agree it shouldnt be up but it just seems kinda nitpicky 2 me over somethin that wasnt meant as deragatory in the first palce... but I guess in the end you are right if someone is offended, then ya in this case.. however the poster didnt mean it in a bad way ... And yeah... you cant have collision damage in an MMO it just inst feasable, too many people, too many ships, everyone would be blowing up!!!!!!
Admiral-Darren-Wright

It would depend on what ship class you are in and what ship class you are ramming, to see if you would be successfull or not in doing a ramming attack.
Theres a few things to think about. Tho many people may not care as long as in there last moments they can strike what might be a crippling blow to an enemy.
Particularly the Klingon race who see honour in dieing in glorious battle manouvers.
I plan on having an Intrepid vessel my self and i dont think a ramming attack would benefit me very much lol. But then i also would like to unlock the Nx-91001, and as we seen in Nemesis, The soverighn hull can do and take an awful lot of damage in a ramming manouver. So the Nx-91001, looked at to many as the Sovy refit, should be able to ram pretty successfully, where my Intrepid wouldnt be as successfull.

By the way, I agree with these opinions. However, I think that most likely, The quality of the bridge officers as well as that of the ship will play a major role in the effectiveness of the "Ramming Speed Ability"

However I beleive <from lmy understanding of what I have read> that you have rammin speed <the ability to ram> as a upgrade/ship ability. So not all ships will be able to do it AND even if you can I dont know if you will be able to outside of combat.

O yeahs kirk guy I agree with you too from what I have heard BO's affect EVERYTHING you do and you will prolly need a BO with the ramming ability in order to actually ram someone in addition to a ship that can ram loolz <doesnt sound like everyone will be doin it Im guessin>

yes very true,
There will be elite Bridge officers that u can unlock on missions and either hire them to your staff or copy there skills over to a Bridge officer you already own. Some of these Bridge officers that you can find / unlock have unique and special abilities that will help you in a massive amount of ways. We dont know yet what all these ways will be but its safe to say that getting these Bridge officers is going to be Priority one to a lot of players :), (including my self)
And i agree your tactical officer and science officer and engineer, help in ramming attacks, the science officer can generate fields that hinder and damage while your tactical use's the most advanced combat hardware where as your Engineer helps to wishstand the most damage. I read this in an article and im sure that the 3 of them leveled up with abilities together as well as your medical officer will help you in ramming and other abilities.
Admiral-Darren-Wright
08-20-2009, 06:12 AM
It would be safe to say leveling up only one officer to the max and leaving the other officers to be weaker will weaken you more than you think, As one officer can not do some things without the other officers skills in unison with him, to a certain degree.

Hmnn... while I see where your going with the whole havin your bo's up to speed will work better for your ship, I certainly hope it doesnt take 4 fully skilled up BO's just to do one simple task like drive a ship into another ship.

It makes sense tho, just going from what i have read but if you think about it, a ramming attack without a great engineer to boost structural integrity and a doctor to heal the wounded because of it, would mean that even if u were successfull your ship would be in no fit state afterwards to do anything .

Well thats fine as long as you could STILL do it if you did not have all 4 bo's that lvld <im hopin it wont be that complimicated just to perform one action> I mean mebbe if it wasnt as successful? or you blew up afterwards? I wouldnt care as long as you could still do it,, I mean to have your abilities limited just becasue you didnt have all you officers abilities maxd would b a drag is all.

here is how Ramming Speed works: The more damaged your ship is, the higher amount of damage you will deal.
However, All ships have the ability Brace for Impact, which makes your hull invulnerable for a short period of time. but timing it right, you can withstand the Ram and survive.

I just thought of something that is both ingenious and hilarious at the same time after reading this:
Say one of my nacelles is blown off, then I fire up my tractor beam and use it to throw the nacelle at the enemy ship causing massive impact damage. Then I grab it again and repeat the process. It's like beating your enemy with a proverbial stick. How cool would that be?!

Here's a thought. Say you've disabled an enemy vessel and it's warp core is begining to breach, there is another ship rounding on you from the rear, you target the wrecked ship with a tractor beam and drag it between you and your persuer and catch him in the splash!!
Not as cool as beating him with your own ****** stump, but it's the thought that counts!

As long as it's not managed as it is BC where a tiny hit at lowest speed with full hull creates a tiny dint in the damage model but still causes a warp core breech all will be fine :)
