If I buy Six Month Discounted Subscription ($59.99 USD | $65.99 CAN | £35.99 GBP | €44.99 EUR)
* Saves $29.95 USD (33% off!) over regular monthly subscription!
* Retro Future costume set
* Access to the Star Trek Online Closed Beta, beginning later this year!
If I buy ONLY what is above will I be able to get into star trek online beta?? If I don't preorder the game and JUST buy this for $60 will I still be able to get into star trek online beta??? I'm guessing if I do this I won't be able to play champions online but what I want is the beta for star trek. Can anyone tell me the details of this offer??

I think it is just with the 6 months of service, so you shouldn't have to buy the game. Don't get something if you aren't going to use it. They will be doing more contests for folks. In fact PC Gamer just got done doing one with Cryptic on Facebook. The 4 winners will be getting invites when the beta starts.

I agree that I shouldn't get something I'm not going to use. However I really need to know the details if I'm going to pay that much money for it. Personally I think star trek beta is worth $60 just by itself. Champions online just isn't that high on my options list seeing as it would double the price.

I hope you are planning on going into the beta to test the game out rather than "previewing" it. I can almost guarantee you that the closed beta will be full of bugs and crashes etc.

Well, I did buy to assure my trip to beta, mostly because I was really interested in CO. I concitered the ST:O assured beta to be a great bonus. But, I promise you I will do everything in my power to: break, abuse, criticize that game to death. To find every flaw I can, to help Cryptic make a great Star Trek MMO.

I am interested in beta because game design has always been an interest of mine. Star Trek has also been an interest of mine for a long time. And those two things coming together is for me a good match. Seeing as beta testing this game will probably be the only way I will get to have an impact on the quality of a video game. I look forward to many many hours of glitch hunting!! :D IF I get accepted...

It also depends what part of closed beta they will be a part of. The closed beta they get into could be a nearly complete product a few weeks before release and 1-2 weeks before fileplanet gets their hands on an open beta. They could also get their hands on the still very buggy version of the game at least a few months away from release.
