I am sure this Rogue Federation group faction will be still around. Although cardassion Empire is crushed, their fight was eneded when the Federation joined the war against the Cardassion Empire. So where have these Rogue group gone? I am sure, with Bajor, maybe. We may see them from time to time... So, will we have any players wanting to be part of this Marque? Or have we already found a federation guild starting this up?
Your opinion is welcome.

I'm hoping there will be a Maquis presence in STO, if only npcs.

The Maquis were wiped out. The Dominion/Cardassian forces more or less killed most of them. The lucky few are scattered, no less then a dozen. Not counting those on Voyager. And since the Cardassian Union was crushed, the Maquis are pointless.
It would be like having American Revolutionary War soldiers fighting to free us from England today.

I hope there is a group like the Maquis, but not the same group. The Maquis were all about the Cardassian occupation, which is long past in the game's timeframe.

I agree. If anything, we would see a Romulan version of them, vs the klingons.

Many "freedom fighter" organizations throughout history have picked up a new cause once their original has been cause has been won. It wouldn't be unbelievable to have the Maquis shift focus to harassing Klingon forces in the disputed systems along the Neutral Zone.

Such a faction would provide some interesting moral choices in the game. Help the rogue faction under attack from the enemy, or join the fight trying to detain or eliminate them. Doing either could have effects to your relations with them and later on open up, or limit further interactions with them.

IMO a rogue faction should be one of if not the last faction to be added. The way I'm hoping that they add factions is they add full standalone factions each with their own races that are exclusive to them (at least officially i.e without the use of the species creator). Then they can add the rogue faction and allow them official access to all of the species in the game. Kind of like a melting pot.

That would be they way I would want to see any kind of "Rogue Faction"
But before that, I hope we can interatct with them (at least as NPC's) at launch.

Indeed they were, they were exterminated by the Jem'hadar when Cardassia joined the Dominon, as I recall. The only ones left after the Domion War are going to be those that made it back on Voyager.
