It'd be cool if Klingon bridge crew periodically got ****ed at each other and started busting each others' heads. Or if your crew decided you weren't brave enough and decided to beat the crap out of you.

Would be an interesting way to try to introduce new bridge crew - ritual combat to the death, the winner gets the bridge posting.

That would be a fun twist for KDF. I really hope that we hear them singing Klingon war songs as we proceed into battle.

I know that it is a common practice for advancement among the crew. If you are a sub-engineer and wish to be chief-engineer you could challenge them for the position. As for that happening to any new crew I am unsure, I don't recall Worf's son having to to that, and if anyone had anything to prove to a Klingon ship it would have been that boy.

I don't know about within the crews but wasn't it mentioned that there would be internal fighting within the Klingon faction?

I think it would be cool if that's how you get to be captain in the KDF. During the tutorial you're assigned to a ship and you realize that the current captain isn't worth his weight in latinum and you decide to kill him and take his place. That would be totally cool.

Ohhh I like that tutorial idea....you are the 1st officer going through a training cruise with the ship, toward the end the Capt. gives you a reason to challenge him for command. Would be a very cool way to tie space and ground combat together in 1 tutorial.

Glad everyone likes my idea. Maybe its not too late to add it to the KDF tutorial if they haven't already.

Well realistically it makes sense for klingons to fight amongst themselves like they do in the show, and first officers killing their captain if they feel he isn't performing well enough.

However, it would make for annoying gameplay to be trying to do something and suddenly have your crew break out infighting with each other.

The gimmicky aspect of it would wear off very quickly and it would eventually become a tiresome mechanic everyone hated and would want removed. So I doubt that sort of thing will be in game, I imagine klingon bridge officers will keep their place and obey their captain unquestioningly just like federation crew.

However, I suppose during scripted missions, they might have officers fight each other a little bit as part of a scripted story event during an away-mission and stuff like that. Just story flavor, no impact on actual gameplay, I could see it.

That's how it should be, to get your first command as a klingon.

But what of the non-klingon races? I don't imagine all of them are accustomed to killing their former captains as that sort of illogical, brutal savagery is counter-productive.

There are other races in the game besides Klingons??? I was unaware.

That is what pestering in beta is for to get more ST like experiences. Oh that and fixing broken missions, crashes, broken mail systems, falling through a hole in the world to the center, broken powers, missing animations, and many more things.

I think it would make a nice sort of selectable thing where you could select it as, for want of a better word, a "skill", where you generally gain some sort of "heroic presence" which improves your crew's reaction times, at the cost of every so often one of your bridge crew would try to kill you :p
