We know that you can have i belive its up to 5 ships (someone can check) and the three types for Fed and Klingon. Ive been thinking about the mix of ships i wont for my Fed and Klingon fleets. Well eventully anyway. Its going to take some time and work!! .


Im sure loads of people have been thinking about theres so i though id post mine and let everyone post theres. have fun :)




FEDERATION


FLAGSHIP -
1 TIER 4 CRUISER (NX, SOV, GALAXY)
Built for multi roles allowing me to expereince many diffirent missions/styles without having to change ship. Will have definte combat upgrades. Bit of an allrounder


2 TIER 1 -3 CRUISERS (EXC, EXCEL, ETC)
Again they will be all rounders. At least one will be an Excalibur as i just like the look of it. I would like to keep my first ship as well for sentimental reasons. So probably a Miranda.

1 TIER 1 -3 SCIENCE
Want a dedeciated science vessel for any science type missons that are just to hard for a general pupose ship to handle. Im thinking maybe a Nova.

1 TIER 1 - 3 ESCORT.
A completly combat, kick ass kitted out ship. Every modifcation will be for war. At the moment im torn between a Defiant or an Akira but i think the Akira might take it. just fond of the design.


ill post up my klingon fleet when i get a chance. its completly devoted to crushing the foes of the empire!!! ;)

When you say 'fleet' do you mean the players stable of ships? If so you may want to correct it as I think the term 'fleet' applies to the STO variant of a the regular MMO 'group'.

I think he means ideal team.

I'm guessing since he is talking about groups of 5 which is the team cap.

Team sounded good so ive changed it to that :) I mean the what do you want the group of ships that your allowed to be made up of.

yea and im pretty sure we havent had the last surprising klingon ship. being less cannon in terms of klingon ships there is more room to bring in things...

Akira is not an escort class, its actually a heavy cruiser, so it would fit under the tier 1-3 cruisers

I'm certain there will be a lot more where that came from. I'm still 50/50 on the new carrier. I need to see it in flight to make up my mind. I used to be 50/50 on a capital ship I had my eye on in EVE until it flew over my smaller ship and from then on I thought it was great. Cryptic needs to release a new vid to settle the minds of the fans. Even if I don't like it I'll still have the BoPs and my new favourite the Vor'cha. I may even make it my flagship if there's any chance of seeing it in T3 or T4.

That's not how it's classified by Cryptic. The Federation will have three ship types, Escort (battle), Science, and Cruiser (all-around). It's by use, not size.

Ok so maybe the Akira is more heavily based in the combat role, but i dont want it to be a weak ship, i mean its described like a torpedo boat or in some cases a carrier, so im hoping this ship is going to be a tier 3

im assuming that there will be Tiers 1 - 4 for all 3 types. meaning you can have a tier 4 escort, a tier 3 science ship. etc. if i were a betting man i would put the akira as a tier 3 escort

These theoretical lists are subject to change, based on gameplay and how the individual ships turn out.

For my task force, when playing with friends and not in fleet operations, I don’t think I’ll really care what Tier or style ships accompany me. Personally I’ll be acting captain of a Miranda Class refitted vessel; equipped for heavy combat operations.

For fleet operations I’ll take whatever ship is assigned to me by the Fifth Fleet command. I’ll of course request a Miranda Class Refit because I’m partial to it, but I’ll command whatever ship is assigned.

Its nice to see people going with ships they like and not what ever is the most powerful. It should make for an intresting and diverse quadrant. Not to mention I hope that somehow some of the smaller ship captains gain a reputation for being somewhat clever (if not devious) and winning against their larger foes.

It's been said to be a tier 2 escort, which has me a little disappointed, a torpedo boat like the Akira really should be tier 3 IMO. Though on the plus side, each ship is upgradeable to be just better than a stock version of the next tier up, so at least fully decked out it will be tier 3.5 equivalent.....roughly.

2 Nebula classes. 1 upgraded with better science facilities and 1 with additional weapons payload.
1 Oslo class fitted with increased shielding and medical facilities if possible.
1 Prometheus class with increased weapons and shielding

2 Raptor classes with increased shielding and weapons
