So on the official IRC channel, a bunch of us decided we would prepare our questions ahead of time for Tuesday's DevChat, and work on them. This is the current list:

Zeroth: Will we be able to switch out BOs during combat?
Deyvid: "will "all phasers" be considered one subsystem, or will "dorsal phasers" be one subsystem while "ventral phasers" are another subsystem"
Sobekeus: "Can you give us an example of how positioning will be important for combat?"
Karik: can you 'protect' certain subsystems by facing them away from your enemy so repairs can be done relatively uninterrupted
deerang: Q. Can we target one subsystem with phasers and a different one with torpedoes ?
Deyvid: Will targeting subsystems damage the hull as well?
Karik: Will subsystems take damage relative to the ship's general condition (ie. will targeting the ship in general affect the subsystems as well, or will it /only/ affect the hull points
lhb: "What are destructible sub systems? Are the weapons of my ship destructible? Or maybe only less important things like tactic stations, medical facilities and that sort of thing?"
Karik: "Will we be able to appoint our 'redshirts' to specifically repair one area or subsystem or will it be an all around, X% restored to everything every Y seconds type mechanic?"
lhb: "how will i target sub systems? is it a skill that a BO has to learn or more inherent to the game mechanics a la BC and the like?"
Deyvid: Will Orion females have a /dance emote?
Deyvid: quetions I had about the Vo'Quv,... How many fighters will be available to a single Vo'Quv? Will we always send all fighters at once, or will we be able to choose how many to send out at a given time? If we send out two separate "salvos" of fighters, will the work independantly or both be under the same "orders"?
Karik:"Will Bridge Officers of varying professions have skills that work together and reinforce each other?"

What we're trying to do is be specific, so we don't get vague questions. Instead of asking, "Will positioning be important?" we ask for an example. This avoids the issue of us going, "Will positioning be important?" and Cryptic saying yes.

So if you have a good question related sort of to the last Ask Cryptic, post it here!

1) Will we be able to set ship shield modulation frequency?
2) Will we be able to set torpedos to match a frequency so as to negate shields?
3) Will for and aft weapon systems fire according to LoS or will you always be able to fire your weapons at any angle such as the system in EVE-online?
4) If boarding and taking another ship is possible, will you be able to keep it? Or can you switch command to it to effectively sacrifice your current ship to take command of a new possibly larger or alternate faction ship?
5) will you be able to trade modules in flight? (I.E. a smaller research ship -PC- is out paced by a large warship -PC- who then demands the player relinquish this or that module to him or face destruction)
6) Will ship wrecks stay present for a set time? Will you be able to salvage anything from them such as modules? If so how will you limit the salvage? Access to all, to only the destroyed, only the destoryers, or partys A and B but not C?
7) When I am planetside, is my ship open to attack? Will it auto defend itself or will I be called back to the ship?
8) Will you be able to send out a distress signal where NPCs and players alike can find it (both friend and foe) leading them to your location? Also will you be able to jam communications on a ship? (including fleet chat and what not to prevent calls for help)
9) Will there be unqiue items or limited quantity items such as some ships presented in EVE-online which develop a player followed history as only a handful of them have been added to the game?
10) will "redshirt" and "BO" morale be a factor in the game and if so what will affect it?
11) As their is no currency, how will the Auction House work? What will be the method of trade?
12) Will their be a form of gambling in the game? Such as dice or cards, or any other Star Trek oriented passtimes that would serve as a base for increased social interaction between captains.
13) While a ship class has a set crew compliment, will modules exist to expand ship crew, cargo, or hull plating? Will modules be able to add addtiional weapons to a ship?
