Will there be the ability to send crewmen on leave? I thought of possible motivation for the player to send his NPC shipmates to the prime vacation spot.

1. Morale- If your fellow shipmate's morale goes down, say after a battle where you suffered signifigant damage and had to retreat or after the death of another crewman.

2. Experience- When you beam people down to planets for leave in Star Trek, you know what is going to happen, just slap a red shirt on them and you've got a potential mission on your hands.

Erm no I don't really think that'll work. It is really more trouble than it is worth and if they are trying to make it that realistic, well they are going to hit a ton of roadblocks. Cryptic if you are doing stuff like this then drop it and get the game out faster

Would you rather see it rushed?

I would rather them not try and spend time on pointless rubbish like this, I thought I made that clear?

Some games use systems that give you buffs for time spent logged off. Shore leave, or perhaps orbiting a mining colony or interesting spacial anomaly have been proposed as things Cryptic might want to think about.

It's usually have some sort of benefit to logging off for those who may get, ummm, obsessed...

I am sure he doesn't want to see the game rushed but just doesn't want to see frivolous things that isn't needed. Like player housing.

I think its a good idea to have some recreational things in the game. Social skills could be trainable attributes for certain BOs and races. Also gives players more to do. Take a look at the thread I made about it:

imo, i think that if they wanted to have this in game, theyd go with Wow's rest system when you are offline, or docked at a station.

log back in/leave the starbase and youll get that morale bonus for X amount of time based on how long you were "resting"

Some of us like the idea of Player housing...although in this game my ships interior will do fine :-)
